Any recommendations for good tattoo artists for lion around KL? Not sure if I want colour or plain yet. And if it is about 2/3 back piece, what would the damage be to my wallet?

what type of lion u want?

cheap things not good
good things not cheap

that's more or less how it works for price of tattoos. it can definitely cost much lower if you want but definitely not with the artists that i just mentioned.

enquire with them on who can do realistic tattoos. i'm not familiar with their work but seen some of their work on instagram and its quite nice i feel. looks like they usually do old school type of designs but i think they can do realistic as well if they are interested to

I got jenn Neoh to do most of my tattoos, including the backpiece, that means her price is not the same anymore.Because I was thinkng that it also depends on the size of the lion and the position. I have not been geting new tattoos for quite a while (4 years)

oh wow really? i think she does great pieces man. i think generally go by how much is it per hour the artist charges?

how much did your tattoos cost with her?

because doing a whole backpiece 2/3 of the back is quite big ... and i can imagine 6 hour sessions for about 3 to 4 sessions? ... estimating it at the range of around RM300 - Rm500 per hour ... i'd say its around 6hours x 4 sessions x RM300 = around RM7200?

just my own rough estimate. cause i'm not sure how much jenn neoh costs but i wouldn't mind paying extra for her cause she's gotten really good over the past few years

The last time I went she quoted by the size and the design I wanted, more or less, around RM3-4k (3/4 of my bck, another 1/4 is done by someone else).and other smaller ones on my thigh and arm around Rm500-700 each

I even got the tattoo she done when she just started, and u can know she improved alot since then. Now she is working together with her husband in their own shop.

nice. yeah she's improved tremendously in these few years. a lot of realistic tattoos coming out from her which i really like. and if she charges RM3-4k for 3/4 of your back i think its pretty cheap. not sure isit because she's penang based and hard for clients to reach out to her

She had customers flew from Australia just for her to tattoo, I think she based on a more reasonable price. But I don't know how she charges now.

Got my first tatto done by Pip at Jesselton Tattoo in Sabah..

Wanted the hummingbird to look thinner and more vertical like in the 2nd pic but the artist said bigger is better.. ^^;;

Addicted to the pain now. Resisting the urge to get another tattoo at my ankle due to employment reasons.

This costed me RM300. It signifies 'freedom' to me.

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of a butterfly about the size of smaller than 20sen coin on my collarbone. how much will it usually cost in KL or penang?

Yeah learnt my lesson. Next time bring a friend to help me see the back and don't follow the artist blindly but communicate correctly. ._.

if its that size ... it should be a lil more detailed i guess. can't really see much from your picture. but it doesn't look bad. i can imagine you putting more birds or butterflies around it with some flowers or trees. then can probably get the artist to touch up also on the bird that you have smile.gif
