um..u really shouldnt hv rushes (like xsaintx said). what tattoo did u you get?

QUOTE(thebassist @ Aug 13 2008, 03:55 AM)
In my honest opinion it's not as satisfying when you get a tattoo done that is an imitation of real life examples from the pictures you see on the net. The best course of action is to, of course, do your research- go to google images and type in your query and keep browsing until you've found the right one. It doesn't matter what kinda pic it is- just get the kind of picture that you find represents what you're looking for then see if you can personalize it (by drawing it out by hand or printing it out and tracing it out and then making a few tweaks/additions here and there). Then after that bring it to (as xsaintx mentioned) a reputable tattoo artist, and if he's really good (or even good), he'll make your personal design more professional looking. Of course you have to remember to give him any original picture that you find- but then again precautions are up to you to decide.

Part of the satisfaction of getting a tattoo is the joy in having a major role in getting the design. I've personally hand drawn most of my tattoo designs. Unfortunately I have this thing about identity on internet forums so I can't show it here. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Anyway I digress. Just trust me when I say that if you personalize everything by yourself, you'll get a great satisfaction from having your efforts displayed on your body through the art that you've designed.

Yes i agree. I've had my design for years before decided to actually go for it. the tattoo artist redrew it for me in a totally different angle/view and it turned out really nice.

you should show us ur tattoos sad.gif i wana see

Well, I do not advise to do it on your neck, cos in the future, u are going to look for a job, it will be harder, because ur tatoo will be visible.
Why not try stone effect on the word XIX it will look really nice.well, maybe you can just put it right below ur neck at ur back horizontally.
The effect (one of my sample) as below(sample is vertical):

Added on September 7, 2008, 3:28 ami was googling polynesian tattoos and came across this

awesome yea?

some description - Polynesian style is a branch of the Tribal style whose characteristic is bold black abstracts or figurative designs There are many different Polynesian styles of tattooing: Marquesan, Tahitian, Samoan, Hawaiian, Maori... Every Polynesian island has its own style and every tattooist also has his own style - more modern or more traditional, fineline highly detailed work that utilizes delicate single-needle outlines, or rougher style, more oriented on design or more oriented on symbolism...

Thanks but no thanks, I design my own tattoos smile.gif

I just need an idea on what looks good on the shoulders (as in on the front)
Hehe this is exactly the reason why I don't like putting my tattoos on the internet.

Because sooner or later someone's going to come along thinking, "hey this isn't half bad" and then he's going to copy it. It may not be 100% but if the tattoo artwork is original (designed by the tattoo owner) then it's some form of plagiarism.
*
yea but in that guy's case, its just numbers sleep.gif

are u planning to do like a chest plate?

Well sorta like a chest plate, just more towards the shoulders.

I have a tattoo on my upper arm (around the deltoid) so I'd be hoping to somehow join the shoulder tattoo to that one.

is this ur own pic?

And normally ppl would suggesr Borneo Ink at Sri Hartamas or Inked at Sunway..the other places i know of is Black Cat at pyramid, tribal bodyworks at sg.wang. Lefty's shop is at times square.
