Btw what aps are you guys using for registry tweak?
*
i'm using memmaid..been using it since my 1st encounter with a pda phone couple of years back..quite good...but basically there's alot out there like beside memmaid like sktools for example...

btw just a silly question..htc claim that the ROM size is 256 n RAM is 192 but why I'm only seeing ROM = 83.6 n RAM=113.7 oni?

hey what do you guys recommend to use as a registry editor?  i know there a few out there - wanted to see what LYN forumers recommend...  thanks!
*
i think it has been disscuss before la bro...but nvm la

1) memmaid( i use this one)
2) sktools
3) resco explorer that comes with the registry editor option...

well depends of ur preference actually...personally i choose memmaid due to the ease of use..and it also includes other tools as well ie:reclaim memory and a cleaner (that clean ur storage space from dead registry, bad apps link etc)

I dont need to set anything?

I find it scary if its on auto and not manual wink.gif
As id ont want to get a bomb at the end of the month since petrol is 2.70 per litre laugh.gif
Oh yeah abt hard reset, will it reset my contacts and sms as well?
*
if you're not connected to the wifi when u press download in quickgps it'll download the data via GPRS/3G/Edge....u need to connect to wifi 1st then press download in quickgps..

yup..hard reset will reset/wipe out everything...it will be just like when you 1st got ur diamond from the shop...(but everything i the internal memory [the 4gb ones] will still be there)

If wifi is on then it will dload via wifi?
Thanks man notworthy.gif

yup it's the same deal with the quickgps...
just don't tick the option to auto update the weather..if not everytime u visit the weather tab it'll try to do an auto download...this will use ur non wifi connection if u r not on wifi at that time...

Just to clarify some mistakes regarding for Egps and Agps i said previously.

QUOTE(wikipedia)
Enhanced GPS (or E-GPS, EGPS, trademarked as eGPS) is a technology designed for mobile phones on GSM and W-CDMA networks, to augment GPS signals to deliver faster location fixes, lower cost implementations and reduced power and processing requirements. It is being developed by CSR who has partnered with Motorola &endash; together they intend to create an open industry forum.

According to CSR, EGPS delivers a "universal positioning capability that will not only work reliably indoors and in zero GPS signal conditions, but greatly speed time to fix in poor GPS reception areas where most handsets are used." More specifically, it can "exploit data available from the cellular network to speed GPS fixes and provide complementary, fast, and reliable location sensing when GPS signals are weak or unavailable." CSR is hoping to add eGPS capabilities to handsets for under $1 per unit.

E-GPS combines CSR's "Matrix" technology with GPS – when a user initiates a location request they get a Matrix location instantly using cell tower information, accurate to within 100m. Then CSR's "Fine Time Aiding" helps the device know where to look for a GPS signal, to quickly acquire satellite information within seconds. Fine Time Aiding enables a more aggressive search and is claimed to be equivalent to 6 dB more sensitivity than can be achieved by any GPS hardware correlator in the terminal.

CSR claim that this enables software-only GPS solutions to operate reliably in all environments, and that eGPS is superior to Assisted GPS. EGPS technologies are due in 2008.
oh yeah... damagedigital, if ur gps can fix 10sec n below.. its call hotstart. coldstart usually takes near 45sec-1min. and hobbes case, its called annonymous start where it is fresh start without any data for fix. the shortest for annonymous start is 90sec and can take as long as 30min if it is not under clear sky.
*
hehehe..really??i tot if u fired up ur gps for the 1st time it called coldstart??? pening2

for those who installed or wanted to install mapkingr12 beware of the "GREY SCREEN Issue"..please refer to the pics below:

user posted image

happened to me n another poor fella..

solution:

Disable Mapking SMS from your startup items. I used memmaid to delete the MapkingR12_SMS.ink from my startup items...u may also use other tools as well as long as it can edit the startup items...hehehe...

After removing that from the startup items list restart your phone...n viola no more grey screen of death...hehehe rclxms.gif
