I got my diamond yesterday too from candccom at cheras.
I would like to officially thank him - candccom you are the man!
my quick 2 cents:
3D flo is awesome
the coolest features are the browser and you tube. I am posting this using the diamond right this minute! its probably the most usable browser on a pda!
will post more later...
in summary go get one!

Check out candccom through the thread here:

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=72&t=703106&st=0

See if he has any units still available and if he can offer a good price - i bought the phone from him at a very good price. I believe Baronic got his from him as well.

i think it has been disscuss before la bro...but nvm la

1) memmaid( i use this one)
2) sktools
3) resco explorer that comes with the registry editor option...

well depends of ur preference actually...personally i choose memmaid due to the ease of use..and it also includes other tools as well ie:reclaim memory and a cleaner (that clean ur storage space from dead registry, bad apps link etc)
*
sorry if repeat la... smile.gif but thanks for the reply. will give memmaid a go.

help please! when i setup activesync with outlook, the diamond asked me to key in a lock password so i did. now, every 15 minutes, the phone would lock so i have to key in pin to use my phone - very annoying.

i've tried to disable this but i can't since the checkbox is now greyed out! wtf! how do i turn this off? help!

Are u talking about PIN password?

Start > Settings > Lock, i think u must enter your password again, and then only can untick. Try and see
*
that is the first thing i tried! the checkbox is disabled - so i cannot uncheck. i have a suspicion this is because of the security settings of my work outlook/exchange server.

anybody else have any ideas? maybe i'll try to look in the registry next...

Apparently, this is normal behavior when you sync with exchange. To turn this off, you need to go to your registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1023
(DWORD Value) (Base Dec)

And change the value from 0 to 1

i can't to even seem to do a hard reset!!! my phone displays this multi-color screen with the word "Serial" at the bottom when i follow the hard reset instructions. then it gets stuck there!

Hey guys, glad to read all about Diamond from this thread...
Hope I can get my hands on it soon...
Newbie here... so thanks for all advices to come wink.gif

Anywayz, i wana ask did anyone try MMS or using 3G with the Diamond?
using hotlink/maxis la... Working fine?

Any problem w that? N Maxis provides the settings?

Coz' i got a fren who bought Asus P750 earlier, and the settings are not found from the *100# menu, and he needs to go to the Maxis centre to get it done...
*
No problems with 3G - I've done video calls, surfing etc. Haven't really tried MMS but should be fine.

I am using maxis. I called them up to upgrade and setup 3G but they only had settings for Touch Cruise but since both are also WM, they also work - no problems.

just sharing some info after i had to do a hard reset yet again after tweaking the registry.

from xda-developers:

QUOTE
please review the following:

warning!:

the following registry settings can cause handset to freeze on soft reset. message on screen: "tap here to start touchflo 3d". screen is not responding.
Hard reset will be required. So far we received many reports by customers attempting the following registry tweak. Hard reset was the only option to address the issue:

Quote:
Boost TFL3D Performance --> HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs and change key Cachesize from 16384 to 32768

it seems that quite a few people got their pda to hang after a soft reset while some others say that it has no effect. refer to thread for more info:

My HTC Diamond after Skin Gadget lamination

Done it in Sungai Wang @ RM60.00. Satisfied - may look not as good as naked ones but reduce finger prints up to 90 percent! - protect from calar 100 percent - moisture 95-99 percent and can be remove (wont efect the original condition of the PDA). The trick is - to do it when there' s less people (read customer) so the girl could really apply it with 100 percent focus/commitment.

so do they have a custom skin for the diamond already? or did they cut the film themselves? does the film cover the whole phone, or just the front, or just the screen? thanks.
