haizT_Ti heard that the mapking can be download.isit??can i download from malsingmaps.com then use???where can i buy the battery?
*
The maps can be downloaded, yes but the software itself (MapKing) need to be purchased first.

Btw Baronic, the extended battery, it comes with an additional battery cover?Cant you use back the original cover? It seems the camera lens is a bit wider on the extra battery cover. Any idea any place we can get it in Malaysia?

i organise bulk that time u all dun wanna join! ish. lol. if u all join we all also can get cheaper cuz more people. yes it comes with its own cover. cannot use original since battery 3mm thicker.

not sure when its coming out in malaysia. but a little birdie told me SIS may be bringing it in middle of next month with the price of 300. MAYBE.

lense cover is bigger, but the cover is still there, and its not deeper. my guess since the cover is now further from the actual lense, the hole muts obviously be bigger so can take pic
*
Ahh..Its not i don't wanna join. When i was here, i saw your bulk and its closed already. Dang.!! tongue.gif

Well, lets just wait and see how it goes. My current battery life is lasting me roughly about 2 days. If the extended battery could potentially last me around 4 - 5, i will be a happy man smile.gif

Whats the latest ROM for the Diamond? Is it necessary to have the latest for the Diamond? And do they charge you if you wanted to send it for flashing firmware?

QUOTE(Baronic @ Oct 2 2008, 05:55 PM)

no charge for flashing the Rom. Latest is 1.93. However u can flash better cooked rom. visit XDA Developer forums, and make sure u hard-spl before flashing.

lol, akachester, read my post again.

Tools > GPS/Track while in MAP mode bro

*
Ok, my bad on that part tongue.gif

Anyway, i still cant seem to get the Tools > GPS/Track section. I tried clicking everywhere but cant seem to find the Tools part. I have a Setting option but still cant trace the part where i can set my GPS port rclxub.gif

Btw, was at LYP yesterday and saw they are selling the same TD back cover that comes together with the Extended Battery. Never asked the price though and not sure whether they are selling the Extended Battery or not.

@akaChester. the extended battery by HTC or some other provider. whatever it is, make sure it isnt by Cameron SIno. Their batteries are not strong enuf for GPS to function. get ori HTC better. havent tried other third party batteries yet.

you're using mapking 2007 right?

when you choose MAP MODE, u'll see the map right? then below the map u have a tool bar right? at the bottom left u can see tools / settings i cant remember. click it, and u'll see the word GPS/Track or similar.
*
Thanks bro. At last i got the setting already. Its showing COM4 "GPS Found!" status. Finally its working. Thanks alot again.

Pardon me for not noticing the Toolbar at the bottom of the map. LOL...!

Well, i didnt see any Extended Battery though but for sure have seen the battery cover at LYP. Need to check out whether they are selling the Extended Battery or not. Hopefully its not going too expensive.

lol, the price is brand related, the HTC one being the most expensive. suggest purchasing from expansys.

glad your GPS is working fine now. lol
*
So, your extended battery is from SIS?

Other brands are fine as well except Cameron SIno?

anybody can tell me how to make diamond battery life more long lasting huh? i have see on market, have diamond battery 1900mhz + extention cover.. any user here have idea for this? diamond user here...

I think you are refering to the Diamond Extended Battery. Try reading a few post back. Baronic is using this battery and is experiencing way better battery life (around 50% IIRC) compared to the original price. Probably a good buy if you need the extra battery life.

connection via satellite ! and no charges involve using GPS tongue.gif
*
Wow...Thats nice. I am starting to like using GPS here. But it took kinda long time for it to load though. I started the GPS on my MapKing2007, took roughly about 1 - 5mins for the GPS to be fully loaded before its showing where i am though.

Regarding the maps, i should constantly update it via website right? Its not automatically updated right?

but wat bout the surface? is it the same? as shinny as the original cover?
*
AFAIK, the surface is not like the original cover as the pictures posted by Baronic before. It does feel kinda like rubbery. Well, at the very least it is not shinny though. smile.gif

My TD is starting to have some lagging + bad memory leak issues lately. I kinda need to restart the phone every 2 days to prevent the memory from growing over 65%. Is there any newer ROMs out there except 1.93 that would solve this issue?

shinny surface only nice ma lol

btw im thinking to get this pda phone soon, any difference if buy ap set? compare to sis warranty?
*
Well, shinny surface is nice to look at but kinda hard to take care though especially the back shinny surface of the TD is not the smooth type. Extra precaution is needed, not to mention, to replace the original back cover cost RM80 the last time i ask though.

Well, for me, i would not risk myself getting AP set (if i can find any) for the TD. I would rather pay a little bit more to get the SIS warranty because i do not want to risk it in case anything goes wrong especially with the touch screen though. Well, its still personal preference though smile.gif

Mine could barely withstand 1 day with the original battery. I just keep charging the phone whenever i could find a power port cause i could not live without a phone tongue.gif

Strange, I can average a good 2.5 days. I just use it mainly for calls, sms and information management. But I only use Maxis Edge since no 3G base station was installed inside the building. Are you using 1.00.25.5 radio ROM? If you have updated to HTC's latest 1.93 ROM available over its website, then you should have this version installed.

I am very interested in getting the extended battery. I think its gonna be good.
*
Well, maybe i am calling too much tongue.gif

I am on 1.93 ROM but not sure whats the radio ROM though. I just need to keep recharging the phone everyday.

I hav a question. Regardless how high resolution of my contact's photo is... it is still pixelated when added to my favourite contact screen.

Anyone know how to fix it? How did HTC make the sample favourite contact picture so nice?
*
I have this problem as well. No matter how i take it or set the picture, its still pixelated. rclxub.gif

If i wanted to flash the firmware at my TD, can i send it to any HTC shops without getting charged? How long does it normally take to do that? Mine is original SIS version.

LOL....Never knew SIS is like that.

Anyway, sorry for asking this one too many time but what is Hard SPL, Radio ROM etc?

What benefit do they give you? If they can solve the headache i am having now with the TD, i wont mind paying to get those.

And a few more questions.

I am looking to transfer some Java files (games) into my TD. How do i install those? Do i need some Java application on the TD? I tried copying the JAR files via Microsoft SYNC but it seems that it wont transfer. Weird...

Besides that, had anyone have trouble with the Calender before? Originally, it is always showing by day, meaning, there will be a list of TODO's for the day when you click on Calender. However, i already set the Calender to show it by Month, meaning will always display the days of the month (like a normal hp). When i click on calender, you will see a glimpse it showing in months before switching over to the day format again. Cant seem to get it to show month by default.
