Hey guys.. new diamond user here.. just got it last night and still going tru the phone... phone is nice n sleek, but still the touch 3d thingy is really laggy.. i haven't even install anything, the touch 3d can go hang while playing wit it.. wtf..

btw.. the new 1.93 rom.. where can i get it? i need to do the SPL thingy 1st is it? i did flash my atom exec before, but these spl thingy u guys saying is kind of diff from what i did before..

quick question , would it still be worth it editing the cache size and available sectors in advanced config after installing the ROM ?

Congrats!! If you ask me, I would think that TLR is already included with the necessary tweaks. Head to xda forum if you really want to know more regarding this ROM.

I sent my TD for 1 to 1 exchange for a new unit at SiS. Just got it back today but... Actually, they just swap my TD with someone else's repaired unit. 1 word best to describe this, a "refurbished" unit!

@Baronic, how was it like when you get your 1 to 1 exchanged unit? Did they ask you to exchange the cover box (with IME) as well?

Anyway, at least this refurbished unit they gave me is flashed with Rom 1.93.707.1 WWE. Fast!

Alternatively, Baronic's blog also has an entry leading us to the original ROM package. The stock SPLs are available at the xda-developers forum, Touch Diamond section. Get the version 1.37 mfg signed. That is the original SPL.

One single RUU package contains both the ROM and the Radio ROM. However, SPL should be separate if I understand it correctly. This RUU package depends how it was packaged or intended by its authors. For example, RUU delivered by HTC should contain everything in one package while xda-developer's cooks might want them separate. It all depends.

The sequence in bringing your device back to stock standard is important because when you're using a customized ROM, you're running unsigned SPL and unsigned ROM. When you flash your original SPL which is signed, it'll automatically lockup because your ROM is unsigned. Flashing a signed ROM would not do any harm because your SPL is unsigned to begin with. Then you flash the stock SPL which is signed.

However, if you're using signed SPL and signed ROM, I guess that doesn't really matter anymore. You could flash the stock signed SPL and still use the customized signed ROM. Just make sure you be consistent. Signed for signed and unsigned for unsigned. Don't mix it up. Remember to track your own changes so that you know the history of what you've done should you want to revert that action.

Yeah, I saw that in PDA Expert Mid Valley! However, the price is RM98 which is expensive for such a simple slip in case. Anyway it has got microfibre lining on the inside which cleans your Touch Diamond everytime you slide in and out. One word of caution though, although it is using microfibre lining, it can still catch debris and scratch your device. You don't want a long line of scratch when you pull it out. So keep it clean.

They do sell other leather carrying cases for Touch Diamond. They are RM68 each. These are the exact same products sold by a HK guy on the ebay.com. He sells it for less than USD$10+3 for shipping. Its still cheaper by about RM20. So better get from ebay and pay through paypal. That guy is pretty reputable.

Wait a minute, is it 1.37.707.1 or 1.93. I don't think 1.93 comes in build 707.1 yet. So far the sightings of 1.93 is only from Middle East region and not WWE.

i bought the pouch at pda expert in the curve this evening... it's amazing that i could spent RM90 just for this simple small pouch... but good thing is my TD is now well protected ..

it's kind of tight to slide in / out the phone though.. since it's leather, i think it'll loose up a bit after a few days use...

Added on July 26, 2008, 12:09 ambtw... i read from some previous post, saying that the home, call buttons faulty.just need to apply some pressure on the buttons for it to work, no need to press the buttons until u hear the click sound.

but for my phone, i need to press until i hear the click sound only the buttons will function.. so meaning my buttons faulty also? just curious..

so far whats the overall for the battery consumption ? how long can it last for few calls and few messages a day...?

anyone know a good place in PJ area to get an official SIS MALAYSIA Touch Diamond at a good price? Phone Just Got stolen Sigh....

ok... let me share with you how long mine can last. basically i did a full charge some where around 3AM. then it stay put at standby mode. start making and receiving calls around 11AM. did some SMS, 5 mins of mapking. total at least 20 mins of calls and around 25 SMS. oh yeah, not to mention 5 mins of games. and the conclusion is, till now 5.00AM my battery is showing me 50%.

what i did was disable auto adjust backlight. set both on external power and on battery power to 3rd line. i believe it still can last me another 12 hours.

ROM Date: 07/13/08
Radio Version: 1.00.25.05
Protocol Version: 52.29.25.12H

Anyway, this new ROM reduce the "animation stress" on the phone by cutting down the animations when you browsing through the TouchFLO menus. Hope I can video it and show to you, but I don't have a good video camera.

Last time I used v1.37 rom and found the changes in 1.97.707.1 WWE rom are:
1. Soft reset loading is faster. The starting HTC logo animation run smoothly; previous rom is laggy when the animation flashes the green triangle on HTC logo.
2. The "Tap here to launch TouchFLO3D" screen has been removed. My experience with 1.37rom will hang quite frequently at this screen. New rom will only show "launching TouchFLO3D..." (without logo) and it's slightly faster; so far so good, no hang.
3. The touch screen is more accurate, responsive and respond more correctly to my finger gestures. The old rom always mess up swipe with flick gesture and most of the time, it simply select an item when I try to do scrolling with finger.
4. TouchFLO3D animations while switching to different menu is "greatly" reduced. But still acceptable for me.
5. At the weather section. When adding new location, there's a small column of alphabets on the right side (just like contacts) for you to choose the first letter of the country's name.
6. The overall performance of the device is a lot faster! <I forgot to mention this important thing earlier >
7..... So far that's all I found out. No time to install other softwares and play around with it yet.

i've flashed my device to TLR v3 rom... quite responsive and the changes are just the same as what imgaylord stated above..

guys, which GPS software u r using? i've downloaded garmin but it seems that it can only connect to garmin GPS device onli... .. never use b4 ma...

i change my device 3 times. and yes, change the IMEI wan.

please hard-spl before u flash anything yourself.

sorry for being away from the forum yesterday. there was a tragedy in my family. i lost my pet Cocker Spaniel of 12 years. T.T at first he ran away, but after looking all over TTDI i can only surmise he's been dognapped. depressed. what a F***ing horrible way to spend my birthday. I think imgaylord new ROM could be the ones SIS plans to upgrade for existing 1.35/1.37 users? Cant wait to get the new ROM. I hope HTC would set up their new service centre somewhere near Bukit Bintang area...too lazy to go to Glenmarie. May i know the price for extended battery set.

The HTC service centre at lowyat will be moving out back to glemarie start next month. the extended battery is not available yet. need to wait for another 2-3 months. now only the standard battery & genuine pouch available for sales.

Hong Kong Official WWE ROM - 1.93.831.1 WWE 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05 is out! Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410720 . Is this the same version as ours? Even if the latest Official ROM is out for MY, can I install this ROM on my existing Hard-SPL Olinex v1.30 (Signed) ? Official ROM should be signed right? Just to confirm before I brick my phone.. I'm still waiting for MY's latest ROM based on 1.93 .
