the announcement of the panasonic ae3000 didnt come alone....there's a whole new series of JVC (4 new models) and Epson (3 new models) to fight with the lone ranger Panasonic...not to mention Sony and Sanyo did the same, and we're only talking abt full HD stuffs.

if i am not mistaken, if you connect directly to the projector...then the picture resolution is governed by the limitation of your video card. as long as your card can handle 1280x720....dont see why not.
i am using DVI-HDMI cable and a HDMI-HDMI cable from 2 input source.....picture quality abt the same |

QUOTE(Barricade @ Oct 1 2008, 07:49 PM) This i have to disagree with you.projector is nice, yes, but in a room without any light source.imagine yourself living in a mansion with 10 feet window everywhere, how would a projector fit in those places? that is where lcd/plasma comes to life and makes pj crap.i only put my projector in my dedicated HT room for my family, where as in the hall, upstairs hall, kitchen, garden i have plasma and lcds everywhere. so plasma and lcd isn't crap after all you missed out walk-in closet, laundry room, toilets and store-rooms |

11x8.5ft might be a bit limiting for a projector.....
seems that the biggest screen you can fit is a 89" diag 16:9 screen...i am assuming that it will be ceiling mounted and about 10'5" throw to the screen. then again, i'd still try and put a projector in there...hehehe. |

the 89" is the biggest possible....there could be other obstacle which has not been taken into consideration....
anyway, like i said i'd still put a projector in there.....and i do agree that 89" is still better than those 50 and 40". this aside....i do use my 42" TV still.....it alternate btwn the pj and the TV....depending on the mood...hehe |

my 3LCD's manual definitely say NOT to turn off the main power switch after you switch off the unit. as the fan is cooling down the unit a good minute or so.....big warning sign...

i've seen both new epsons the 5000 and the 3000 plus the ae3000
think art from projector review also said that the older 1080UB beat the ae3000 in terms of black level....so what do you think the new epsons would do... |
