set both pj and dvd upscale at 720p via hdmi...

but why on some films i see jagged lines, esp on diagonal stuff that is in the priceture?...eg, house roofs, wire cables....i thought the processing of the pj or dvdp could minimise this jagged staircase effect?
*

There will still be jaggies but minimal if the 480p / 576p source is being upscaled. There is improvement in PQ after upscale but not dramatic. Most would go for BD or dl HD movies for better enjoyment.

Finally I've officially joined the HD65 club as of 28 September 2008 hehe. Got the unit from htkaki liao. hehehe.

Got the PJ on Sunday. This morning 2am only started it up. Was bz sorting out some stuff in the house, today got small renovation hehe. Will post some pics later as the house very messy now. Tested for a few hrs and I m very happy with it hehe. No BDs to try out yet but played some 720p materials on PC. A lot of calibration work to be done hehe. But image was very nice out of box biggrin.gif

Slept at 5.15am this morning and have to wake up and work today. Feel like s*it now hehehe.

Welcome to the HD65 club, bro. Not forgetting another new member too, Alphamania thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

Wow, no need to sleep? Keng. Hope that you could complete it soon and post some shots here.

Bright eh... A lot of ppl thought it would be very dim like those at mamak stall. Hope the perception of many ppl out there would change smile.gif . Then again, need to expose them to HD pj in order for them to change their mindset brows.gif .

Proud to say that I ve managed to convince a number of them tongue.gif

Go on short holiday only, kena left and right laugh.gif sneezing non-stop.

Taikor, that's the pj installer guy lah. Not me blush.gif Vyzar, and hackwire's setup are done by this guy, who is a pro installer. He is charging RM380 for the work. Aint getting any commission out of it. But, I knew that he really does a good job.

If you want, do let me know. It can be arranged. As for you in JB, maybe needs to pay a tad more tongue.gif

Bro, any place in Penang that I can audit HD65? Thanks.

Maybe Watts, the AV shop at Perak Road does have this.

vyzar, glad to hear that you are enjoying it so much smile.gif

Taikor, this is an additional service nia laugh.gif . Not mine sweat.gif . It's a third party. You will have to pay him directly as in the case of hackwire and vyzar.

The RM380 installation fee is standard charge by this company. Normally, he does big project. That's why I recommend buyer who needs pro installation to look for him.

Only installation job. You need to provide cables, screen and pj mount for him to do the job. But, the feedback from customers of his service is excellent. All nicely and neatly done.

The RM380 installation fee seems reasonable coz I was quoted RM800 excluding cables, etc. which was why i decided to DIY everything. the only contractor was an indon to do plastering work at RM70 only.
*

WOW! RM800 rclxub.gif That's really cut throat doh.gif Btw, how's your progress of your room? smile.gif

All lights are off. Color of wall is a little bit creamy and projector is around 14'6" away from wall. Projected image around 106"wide so it's around 120-122" diagonal.

When the image is bright, it looks very nice but once the image becomes a bit darker, then the whole image looks washed out.

On my monitor or TV when the image looks washed out it is due to brightness too high. So normally if i view 16:9 images on TV the blackbars will be slightly washed out and i will reduce the brightness until the black becomes real black. But using the projector, no matter what i do, the black is still washed out and reducing brightness or increasing contrast don't help.

Do you have any DVD with THX esp Star Wars I, II, or III? There is an option for calibration. If all else fails, looks like a screen is a safe bet.

A question for DLP viewers.

How many actually notice the rainbow effects and get headaches? Is there a % probability?

Was thinking of getting one, but worried, if I'm not affected, but later found out family members affected, then jialat.

Wah so happy to see more and more ppl join the hd65 family. Shall we have a HD65 club where we can bring our hd65 out to show off in mamak like those PSP gathering or BMW gathering? hahaha.

Then maybe we can show how we modified the PJ or how we calibrate it hahaha tongue.gif
*

Not advisable to do so lah tongue.gif Those ceiling mounted HD65 will be a hassle to dismantle and fix it back again sweat.gif

No screenshots of HD65 in action by other members?

Count me out as my previous shots were all but lousy doh.gif Kak Nira is at least way better than me.

Yes, there is a white patch when it is on. You will also fine particles / dust flying around your pj. I would suggest better house keeping to keep it clean.

The lens should not be touch when it is hot as it might be damaged, bro. Pls refer to the manual for the cleaning.

How's your screen project been going?
