There is always opportunity when it comes to Tigerbank. Market is still unstable right now. Most importantly is that you have invested in it. |

Maybank momentum looking nice.
BNM MPC meeting just now, no change to OPR, as I expected. The next and last BNM meeting this year will be on 5th Nov. BNM is data dependant. There could be a chance of a cut then. Have to wait n see ECB (today) n Fed next week as well.. This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Sep 12 2019, 03:51 PM |

QUOTE(moosset @ Sep 12 2019, 09:05 PM) Likely Fed will cut rate next week too and likely its 0.25%. If they don't, then US market will go into correction as it expects a cut. And Donald Trump will go full mental. Trump wants them to cut by a whole 1%.As for BNM, that's 2 months away. Under current market conditions, 2 months is a long time. Anything can happen. Anyway, my 2 sen is that IF the Malaysian economy remains stable and IF the trade war doesn't escalate n IF Fed cuts by "only" 0.25%, then there is a good chance BNM will stay put n reserve its ammo for later. Lots of Ifs there.. 😆 And even if there is another BNM cut In Nov, Maybank impact will not be that great on Maybank's earnings for this year. Rate cut in Dec?? Really?? These guy's don't even bother to check BNM MPC meeting schedule. No meeting is scheduled in Dec, so no way there will be a rate cut in Dec. The next BNM MPC and last meeting of the year will be on the 5th Nov. This will be after Fed Reserve meeting on 30 Oct.. This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Sep 24 2019, 01:34 PM |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Sep 27 2019, 05:33 PM) Probably due to:1. Russell decided to keep our bonds in watchlist 2. Interest rate is set to reduced again in the upcoming BNM meeting 3. Just a normal sell-off for profit taking (last DRP shares were priced at RM8.00) But a 0.10 drop is just a veli small % for a share with pricetag of RM8.60 la (~1.2%) |

QUOTE(moosset @ Sep 27 2019, 08:17 PM) Haha.. Sorry for the fright! . Fat finger error.. 😆Let's hope next week recover. If weaken further than I will be tempted to top up. Btw I'm also sort of hedged in my Maybank position using Abfmy (0800EA).its not a perfect hedge but it's a good way to use excess cash.. This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Sep 27 2019, 10:19 PM |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Oct 3 2019, 11:10 AM) Dividend and valuation wise, Maybank.Public Bank for stability over the next 40 years (depending on the succession planning which is still being kept a secret). I would still go for Maybank as the it has scaled over ASEAN, so potential of growth is still there. Growth for Public Bank is limited to the local market (which is dead), unless the new successor plans to expand to regional markets. Then it will open up a whole new market for Public Bank. |

QUOTE(moosset @ Oct 3 2019, 11:46 AM) Ah, correct also. Upon checking, yes PBB has operations in HK, Cambodia and Vietnam. But I can't stop to wonder what is the scale which they are operating at.Having a presence in a particular country but if working on a small scale, it is just going to increase the cost to income. |
