Hey guys just wondering how much would it cost if I were to visit a govt hospital to get my brains checked. what about private hospitals?
or any clinics that offer services to help depression? My depression is getting too severe to handle.

Unfortunately, I have no idea the cost involved but here's a list of hospitals and private practitioners with contact numbers. I don't know where you're from but perhaps you could contact the closest to you? http://psychiatry-malaysia.org/listcat.php?cid=29&all=YI hope you find what you need. Take care.

For govt hospitals, the problem would most likely be the waiting time, as compared to the cost. You might want to try getting out more, for something like dance classes, or anything ludicrous enough to keep your mind occupied.

its not the occupation problem at this stage. It's bordering towards complete mental shutdown and affecting my job severely. Really need to do something about it before I get fired.
thanks for the link..but I'm living at bandar utama for the moment. forgot to mention.

Have you considered that it might be your health instead that is affecting your way of thinking?

go to see a GP asking for a refer letter for psychiatric in government hospital..
try not to isolate urself.. talk to others regarding ur prob.. it maybe hard.. but try to.. if dun feel like talking, ask someone to be at ur side.. it might feel a bit better
remember.. it is not ur fault to have depression..

They say for guys it's typically two things, money or women.. a shrink can help you talk through them but ultimately it takes a personal work to make those things happen

My depression is getting too severe to handle. Visit your general doctor for assessment. If your doctor is competent enough (well a general doctor is supposed to be competent anyway), he/she will be able to assess if you are suffering from clinical depression and prescribe the appropriate medication. Clinical depression can be assessed via symptoms and a set of questions/scores. There is no need for brain check/scan for that.

Perhaps you should go to your religion to seek help. I was once on the verge of going bonkers but religion has given me strength to bounce back. Or else, try music therapy which works well for me too. When i say music, i mean classical music, not heavy metal rock.

thanks guys. but after seeing the doc it turns out to be a case of psycho dementia caused by too much stress. I'm back on track now. (I just saw him yesterday)
Thanks for all the doctor recommendations. Closing this thread to prevent threadnomancers from resurrecting an ancient thread.
personal advice for ppl facing the same problem: music, friends, someone to talk to and entertainment can help, but not when your brain lacks certain chemicals. You know it when you dont seem to be responding to normal entertainment. Go see a doctor in that case.
