You have a nice job. A crush on your co-worker, a good friend and flat-mate, but it always end badly. Why? Because in a first person view, that's life.
Welcome to the world of Mark Corrigan and Jeremy Osbourne. Friends under a roof with their life told in a first person view. Imagine The Office meets Doom, without the aliens and the violence and the guns? Yup, you get Peep Show.
Mark Corrigan is a member of a PR firm, with a nice payroll and a likable behaviour, while Jeremy is a slacker who's a wannabe house musician and is a member of a band led by a man named Super Hans. Mark pays the flat rents, while Jeremy sits down and shit himself.
Each episode is told through their first person view, with complete narration and emotion. Mark's view is all about trying to get "the one", dealing with idiots like Jeremy and co-workers like Geoff, and his crush on co-worker Sophie Chapman. Jeremy, however deals with getting a job, trying to get along with his American girlfriend (played by Canadian actress Rachel Blanchard), trying to shag his good friend Big Suze, and trying to be more famous than his band member Super Hans.
Each episode ends sadly, for a good reason. This is what British comedy is all about: depressing, politically incorrect, and witty. Mark is the intellectual, while Jeremy is the idiot. Both make a great combination for a series like Peep Show. Both Mark and Jeremy are played by comedy duo David Mitchell and Robert Webb, and this is their best and only good work by far, since their previous works like The Mitchell & Webb Look is complete rubbish.
I give this 4/5. It's one of the most intelligent comedies since The Office, and let's hope no American channel would ever remake this. It's currently in it's 5th Series, and the whole thing is also on YouTube!
PS: Since it's in First Person View, don't worry about having Cloverfield-like nausea and vomitting. It's perfectly safe.
