hi bro and sis...as sifu out there...i'm new in ice here and need suggesstion to upgrade my ice..before this the standard in my car just clarion hu and two speaker at the back.for some reason last month i add soundstream piccasso 6 for my midbass.but not enough!as low in budget upgrading need to be step by step, but hard to choose wether to upgrade speaker system first or the hu.in my mind..i want to change my hu 1st but my freind opinion is upgrade the speker system first like add sub woofer.i have a few choice in upgrading this wether hu or subwoofer.but deeper i search and survey the thing make me more complicated.if sifu2 out there can give me opinion waat should i do first.

right now in my car have clarion standard hu and rear speaker for iswara.by adding compenant speaker by soundstream model picasso 6 and 2 channel amp also by soundstream Ls series.not remember the model...and in my mind to add sub woofer xstream series and 4 channel amp L series also from soundstream. for the hu i'm lookig for hu with rds,usb and mp3.after survey i have a ew model by alpine,nakamichi and jvc.

i hope if anybody can give any suggestion and opinion in this matter.

if add wofer 1st oso no prob..if u hav a lots of fund..buy it 2 gether got special prc...hu alpine is gud..4 woofer run the 2chnel or monoblock 1 chanel coz u wtb sstream woofer..

sub should comes in last... do up ur front stage first. priority should go to HU & speaker, then amp. last sub.

for me i will add HU first, but make sure it will last u long, cos changing HU is a very deadly thing to do for ur pocket. HU will improve the sound quality in car by multiple folds dats wat i think, was using stock HU, added this and that but sound still not nice, then change HU settle la...

errmmm... HU depends on ur budget and taste la. For me, i would either go for Alpine 9887 or Pioneer P88 RS. If got more budget, would like to get a AV centre. That's juz my opinion la. BTW i'm using Panasonic HU, quality is not bad and design is nice, gud for mid end setup.

of all in the list...i think id go with the CD7200 (which is what im drooling for right now anyway)

but i doubt theyre under 1.5k....if im not mistaken its about 2k.

design wise, i might go for pioneer 6050. SQ wise i would take Alpine 9887.

There's a list to choose from. From that list those r my choice. BTW i'm more of a Alpine, Pioneer and Panasonic fan. Not so familiar with Clarion and Eclipse. Those r my personal opinion, i like 6050's design, and SQ i'd go for 9887. Not comparing components of the same class. Juz a simple personal choice.

haha, i suggest u to go for 9887. To hell with RDS. u need a nice sound, u wun be looking at ur HU when u drive. Except when show off, but the SQ of the 9887 will compensate for the design. And it's within ur budget of 1500. Now should be less than 1300 can get a new one d. Used one will be less than 1k. Go find a fren or installer dat got imprint programme and ask them help u to work that system out.

no idea...try to stay wit award wining brand...

if wan better sound quality, i'd not opt for JVC. Not to say its bad but juz not for SQ. Budget wise i think they are perfect.

choose whts best for u...n recomended by us, otherwise u wil regret...

this clarion got lotsa function. but i think the design is a bit antique. But it's up to personal taste. Go for it if ur budget allows.

Malaysians a lot using cap ayam (I'm now still partly using cap ayam)... cos no budget and ICE r so expensive, whereas in europe u can get branded entry lvl for less than rm500 for a set of comp or a 4ch amp.

hi..guys...still waiting for my hu..but i do the sub 1st.4 channel 480 from soundstream,7 band pre-amp from rockford fosgate and 12" sub from soundstreams...before tat...comp from soundstream and 2 channel also from soundstream..is it worth it??so far best to my ear...cause i'm going to go for sq.my hu tat i'm waiting for is eclipse cd7100..tat cost me waiting 4 1 more month to get it..hope get ur feed back..

thanks..front comp look likes sound nice to me.when i play cd's especially live in concert like eagles...the sound out likes i got one more speaker at the centre and feels like i'm in the concert.thanks to the sound setter of that acc. shop.but not good enough till i change the HU and make sound proofing.too much vibrate if it goes too loud when driving.the sub..yes...really give me soft n sharp bass.

Of course the PCC6 sounds great because it's tune for SQL at first. And the subwoofer is great with Dual Voice Coil at 2ohm

Better upgrade the head unit with 3 preout and Hi-Volt preout which is 4V at least.

If tight budget, go Pioneer DEH4050 at RM 530 around there... It comes with 3 preout rated 4V.

For budget of RM 600 ++, can get Pioneer DEH5050UB flip flap faceplate (manual)

If not mistaken, Standard Clarion HU have only one RCA output.

actually, i'm also make a research and asking sifu2 opinion and also see wat budget i hav.1stly do my comp and 1 amp.totally cost me rm1080 including installation,w/ship and cabel.cause i want to go for sq, i go for the comp 1st.wat sifu said was rite,cause ur ear hear de music.it's then take me 2 month more to get 1 amp,1 pre-amp to my sub + box.Cost me RM1700.including cabling,installation n w/ship.my rear standard speaker not use.sound like much better wit sub.you can feel it de differents.it really does.

now i'm waiting 2 more month to get my HU.raya coming soon...maybe take me totally 3 month to get it my dream HU.

bout std clarion HU in our car only got 2 rca.if i'm not mistaken.cause 1 for comp n 1 for the sub.

Price range is about RM2000 for CD7100

The CD7200 is a pure deck with no built in amplifier. basically is way better that CD7100. Reason i didn't buy is bcoz my wife is not so fussy coming to SQ. so decided a midrange price with acceptable SQ ok lor

CD7200 i think its around RM2800 to RM2900

u can go to automotive garage sale and look for seller Howie.
His price is quite competitive...PM him lor
