MY first guide about overclocking!

Overclocking without PCI/AGP lock may be dangerous, but I did it. 100% stable.

Ok, a mobo without locks means old mobo/cheap mobo.

1. Firstly calculate the maximum FSB without frying the AGP bus and everything on it. I chose 70 Mhz as the max after reading some other forums.
2. Method:
Stock AGP=eg. 66(same evrywhere)
Stock FSB=eg. 133(not the same evrywhere)
Max AGP=eg. 70(you can go higher, hmmm, what's that burning silicon smell?)
Max FSB=?
Stock AGP/Stock FSB=?.???
Max AGP/?.???=Max FSB

2. Don't think that your AGP can take it, doesn't mean your FSB/RAM/CPU can take it all. Make sure that you have some headroom. Temps and stability is a good measurement for CPU limits. Download SP2004/OCCT/Prime95.

3. Set the RAM to a lower speed than the maximum. Also remember to loosen up the timings.

4. Ok, if you are able to do it all, we now set the FSB to around half of the max first. Then, use SP2004 to stress the crap out of your CPU and see if it is stable. If unstable, bye bye. If stable, ok, read on.

5. Slowly move up until the max FSB with 5 Mhz increments, increase, then SP2004, increase, then SP2004. One hour of SP2004 is enough for basic overclocks. Those 12hrs tests are a little too long.

6. After you reach the maximum, FSB, and it is stable, run a few games, eg. Command and Conquer, NFSMW or any games that require a decent graphics card and uses it. Aquamark 3 or 3DMark benchies also work.

7. Any yellow specks/lines? Anything that looks abnormal? If yes, try this few steps. If not, thank me la.

8. Ok, so you see specks and weird graphics. Download ATiTool even if you use a NVIDIA graphics card. Overclock it slightly, and one more thing I found out, overclocking according to the difference between the original AGP clock and the overclocked AGP clock multiplied a few times or just that number will work.

7. See here to know whether you have gone too far overclocking your graphics card.

If all still doesn't work, you must go back a few Mhz on your graphics card(according to the multiples of the difference) or go back on your FSB. (I also have found out that RAM also can cause weird graphics, loosen their timings and you are good to go)

All my steps failed to work? Go look somewhere else.

hurmm i already lowered my ram when i was ocing the fsb..

but when i raise the ratio thinggy then cannot boot up how ma??

loose the timings?

mine is 5 5 5 16

4Ghz? How much voltage? On wat mobo? RAM, reduce ratio to 1:1 unless you are very sure your RAM can do it at high speed. Timings are already loose enough. Try VDIMM increase. WIth 1:1 very clear speed(x2 ur FSB speed)
