Hi ya,

I'm looking for a way to organise the content on my psp, homebrews etc. Came across something called filer but can't seem to make it run on my rig. Any recommendations? Also trying to run the latest CXMB, but the themes are no where to be found under the Themes menu. I'm pretty sure the plug-in is enabled in the recovery menu. Btw, my rig's still running CFW m33-2, so could it because the themes are no longer supported? Any where to get 'old' themes?

Cheers.

Alright
1)What firmware is your psp?
2)What CXMB are you trying to run on it?
3)Do you have the .ctf themes in PSP/THEME?

Once you answer the above,i might be able to help you get some nice themes on your psp.

As for pspfiler, you might not have installed it right.

Hi Playboy,

Here are my answers:

1. Using custom firmware 3.71 m33-2. Kinda outdated, but i remember reading somewhere that newer cfw kinda slows games down. Hence, don't think of upgrading it anytime soon.
2. Been trying a few themes, and can't remember their names. But all are not working. Any good old themes that u think that will still work on the 3.71?
3. Yes. All themes had been placed under the mentioned folder. The root, ms0: also has the cxmb folder in place.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Alright, follow this guide, and install CXMB 3.2.1 on your psp. It's compatible with 3.71m33,3.80m33,3.90m33 and 4.01m33 so you're all good to go.

Make sure the themes are for 3.71m33.They should all be in a ".CTF" format.Try this theme (Just an example)

http://www.2alien.net/community/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=140

Download that theme, follow the guide above, install CXMB,place the CTF file in ms0:/PSP/THEME and select it in the themes tab.

Hi Playboy,

Tried the theme that u recommended, along with some other CTFs for 3.71m33 but still can't make them to run. Any idea? The plug-in is definitely enables in the Recovery menu. Or is it because this version is not supported for 3.71m33-2?

Btw, will applications run slower on the latest CFW as compared to my current version?

Cheers.

All themes don't work? Including the one i linked you?
Also, did you follow my guide and use the CXMB 3.2.1 included in it?

Yes, i've reached up to the stage where the CXMB is visible and is enabled in the recovery menu. But still no success. Maybe i should try older versions of CXMB. Anyone has the link for that?

CXMB 3.2.1 (The one in my guide) works perfectly on 3.71m33 units.I don't understand why it doesn't work for you.Did you follow the guide exactly as it's written?
Also, your themes should be in the THEME folder. No s behind it.

So it's like - ms0:/PSP/THEME/heartbeat.ctf

*Heartbeat.ctf is the theme's name.*

Try it again. If it doesn't work, upgrade to 4.01m33 and use it.
*
Wouldn't get up to the point where i can enable the plug-in in the recovery if i missed any of the steps, would i? And yes, there's a THEME folder under ms0:/PSP/, and originally, there's only Default.ctf and Random.cft in it.

Anyways, will re-do the steps again later. And thanks for helping out.

Cheers.

I got it running smoothly on my psp slim...

I just followed the instructions in the readme file attached together...

Just incase u missed it...

How to install:
1a. Unzip, then copy the "seplugins" folder to your PSP.
1b. Turn your PSP off and turn it back on while holding R to get into Recovery, then enable the RemoteJoyLite plugins.

2. Get out of Recovery and start up your game. (make sure you have your USB cable connected to your PSP and computer)

3. Windows should popup and say it found new hardware. Go through the wizard until you get to an option to specify driver location. Tell the wizard to look in one of the "drivers" folder.

4. After Windows has successfully installed the driver go in the "GUI" folder then double click RemoteJoyLiteE.exe

(Note: if you have Vista you may need to right-click and select "Run as Administrator")

Thanks for replying Wind82,

The only readme.txt that came with the plug-in is in japanese, so no help for me there.

Anyway, these are the steps that i've done so far:
1. Copied the "RemoteJoyLite.prx" to the "ms0:/seplugins/" folder and also added a line in the VSH.txt file.
2. Enable the plug-in at the recovery menu.
3. Connected the usb cable and started a game.

But nothing happens after that. There's no windows pop up. And RemoteJoyLite.exe window just shows a black screen and a "waiting" on the top right corner.

So did i missed any step here? My psp is running on 3.71m33-2 btw.

Hello all,

I'm still using cfw 3.71m33-2 on my rig, and am quite happy about it.
But lately, i've been having difficulties running a few latest homebrews releases although i can't be sure whether the old cfw version is the actual cause for them being not running.

So, i'm thinking is it time to upgrade my cfw? Want to know the pros and cons between my current version and the latest available cfw before making the jump since there's a risk of bricking.

Hope to hear some opinions.

Cheers.

Hi guys,

Some questions of psp batteries.

i'm thinking of getting a higher capacity unit for my slim. Is it advisable to get those 3rd party models or should i stick with the originals? Any big difference in terms of pricing between both?

cheers
