QUOTE(darenong @ Aug 7 2008, 12:49 PM) can anione in here intro some klang guy on the mod ? i updated 4.05 n cant memory load games ... watever tht means ... i need a contact in klang that can do it within a day ... meaning i pass to him few hrs later i go n take ... of course with a fee ... anione ??? or anione in here willing to do it fer me ??? imma fr klang ... willing to go summit if there is a shop there ... as u can see .. imma noob in psp lol oh i have a phat psp Alright. This means you need a Pandora's battery and a Magic Memory stick. That's the only way you can install custom firmware back on your psp (Unless you do have a modchip which i'm sure you don't Softmodding means you need access to an already hacked psp which can be used to run the Pandora Installer which does all the work for you. (Best for the moment is DCV6). Hardmodding,as the name says involves you opening and cutting a pin of the battery. Now before you even try this process,i wish to warn you that it's dangerous, therfore you'll have to be really careful to avoid injuries of any sort. The main reason why you need the Pandora's Battery is because it allows the psp to boot from the memory stick instead of the flash 0 (The 'normal' way).By doing so,we can peform anything we want on our psp no matter what firmware we have in our flash. It's a very smart hack. Now,if you wish to proceed with any of the above processes, inform me,and i'll help you with the rest. |

Alright,i've just completed another guide that might be useful. If any of you moderators see this guide, and think it should be stickied, then yea, otherwise fine lol
It's a very simple (noob-friendly) guide that i've created. It shows one,how to install CXMB 3.2.1 on their psp (3.71m33,3.80m33,3.90m33 and 4.01m33). I made this guide because i saw many people worldwide failing to understand the VSH.txt editing part especially the ones who already have plugins on their psp. Guide : http://psph.malloc.us/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=286#p286 And Allen96173,if i come to your shop, you can give me discount ah? hehe |

Hey guys,
Planning to get a PSP but currently overseas. Was looking at some posts here about the new models not being able to be pandora'ed, does that mean it cannot be hack to play downloaded games? Trying to decide if i should wait and buy myself when i get home or get someone to buy for me now |

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Aug 8 2008, 02:00 AM) what is the different between firmware 3.71 m33 and the other latest version? Ok.All custom firmwares are good for gaming purposes. There is however, one reason why most people (usually devs) prefer to stay on 3.71m33 instead of upgrading to 4.01m33.and which one is better for better gaming experience? thx They tend to use plugins.Plugins come in the form on prx's and it allows a user to run their desired code either during a game, while scrolling in the XMB or when running a ps1 game on their psp.Other than this, there is no other reason to stay on 3.71m33.It's best to upgrade to 4.01m33. Once you've upgraded to 4.01m33,and if you do not like it for some reason, you can always reflash it to 3.71m33 using Hellcat's Recovery Tool.My guide : Recovery Flasher Now,if you wish to upgrade to 4.01m33,do the following. 1)Go to recovery mode and set your kernel to 3.71 (Recovery : Hold the off switch for about 3-4 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.You should be in recovery mode. Now go to configuration, and hit X at the third option (Game Folder Hombrew) until it says "371". 2)Then download 4.01m33 files 3)Download this too 4.01 official eboot 4)Now open the 4.01m33 installer (step 2),and you should see several files and folders including the UPDATE folder. 5)Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in PSP/GAME. 6)Now,time for the 4.01eboot 7)Copy the 401.PBP and paste it in the UPDATE folder as well. 8)It should be like this ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp && 401.PBP 9)Execute the installer from the game tab. 10)After the installation finishes,REMEMBER TO CLICK X OR YOU'LL BRICK. 11)Done! Enjoy! |

QUOTE(penmarker @ Aug 8 2008, 02:07 AM) Aha,yea those themes are awesome.Get them all here : ConsolespotIf you want more themes, just google for CTF themes for x.xx firmware. Anyways, was my guide easy or what? I just want to make sure it's easy cause if it's hard, and silly (lol) then i might have to edit it. Added on August 8, 2008, 3:18 pm QUOTE(mecca-cola @ Aug 8 2008, 12:18 PM) Alright it's pretty simple really. You've got two options. 1)Upgrade to 3.52m33-4 from 2.71SE-C,then upgrade again to 4.01m33. 2)Upgrade to 3.71m33 directly from recovery mode, then upgrade to 4.01m33. I think it's best for you to use the 1st method. Now,use this easy-installer that does all the work for you. Download : 3.52m33 easy I assume that you do have a Windows XP pc.If you have a Linux or a Mac OS,inform me and i'll guide you through the upgrade. Once you've upgraded to 3.52m33-4 (Make sure you install the -4 patch as well.It has the calender like icon0.png) Use this 'guide' and upgrade to 4.01m33 1)Go to recovery mode and set your kernel to 3.52 (Recovery : Hold the off switch for about 3-4 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.You should be in recovery mode. Now go to configuration, and hit X at the third option (Game Folder Hombrew) until it says "352 kernel". 2)Then download 4.01m33 4.01m33 files 3)Download this too : 4.01 eboot 4)Now open the 4.01m33 installer (step 2),and you should see several files and folders including the UPDATE folder. 11)Done! Enjoy! Hope that helps you mate.If you did it all right, you might just have a sweet looking 4.01m33 firmware on your psp This post has been edited by Playboy21: Aug 8 2008, 03:18 PM |
