my fren old version(2.xx) psp, how 2 upgrade?guide n link,TQ.

Alright,i assume you want to upgrade your friends psp to the latest 4.01m33 firmware.

Now,i believe your friend's psp has 2.71 SE-* installed on it.Now there are several ways that you can use to upgrade your friend's psp.

1)Upgrade manually from 2.71se-* --> 3.52m33-4 --> 4.01m33-2.
2)Create a Pandora's Battery (DCv6),upgrade directly.

Tell me which one you want to peform.I think it's best for you to just use the first step, for it's really straight foward, and very easy to peform.

Inform me,and i'll provide you with a simple guide which i will create later.

Just bought my psp today @ seremban. Out of 3 shops i surveyed , they were selling the PSP with 4GB at RM800.

This shop that i bought from , was selling it for RM750

i got a 4GB stick
-ear phones
-screen protecter
-pouch
-charger
-free games + themes (easily available in 70rR3^n75 @ private trackers)

loving it right now.. Anything i can do to spice it up? biggrin.gif (dont plan to hard mod just yet)

Will start installing Win95 on it later after done playing on it. I have the instructions to do that so later will play around with it biggrin.gif

btw, can u play games online with the psp? i mean online as in with ppl from other parts of the world?
*
Well, you can spice it up in many ways.

Installing Win95 on it is really crazy. It'll take a month to fully boot the OS.If you're using the Portal version of it,it equally sucks.

1) You can install homebrews on it. (Check my signature for my very own game named "Playboy's Shooter")
2) You can install CXMB to get excellent looking themes on your psp ( My guide : CXMB 3.2.1 )

You can do many more interesting and mind blowing stuff on your psp.Just mention what you want to do with it,and i'll try to help you out.

lawl,i assume you do have custom firmware installed on it.

This guide would only work on 3.71m33,3.80m33,3.90m33 and 4.01m33.The themes that i've included are all for 4.01m33 only.

You can only install those themes if you have CXMB installed. You can check if you have CXMB by :
1) Checking the root of your memory stick on your PC.If you have the folder cxmb, then yes you do have it.

2)Go to recovery mode.(Hold the off switch for 3-4 seconds, then hold R and boot your psp up).Go to plugins and see if you have it in there.

And during the 10 minutes you take to boot Win95,i'd willingly do something better and more useful like playing football hehe

or are they already preloaded in xcmb?
*
Nope, they're not pre-loaded in CXMB.You need to download them here
You need to register first. It's a VERY good XMB site.

hi, i just got my new psp. Using fw 3.90m33-3. A bit lag when playing PES2008 even though i already formatted to FAT. I knew there is a patch for it, can anyone tell me how to do with the patch?
*
It could either be a bad Memory Stick like what toottut89 said,or it could just be the CPU speed.Press the select button in your psp main menu, and set the GAME CPU speed to 333mhz,then see if it works fine.

wetfusion, yeap it does, but it doesn't drain that much.In fact,Sony underclocked the CPU speeds. Some games really do require higher CPU speeds. To change it,it has to be included in the game's code.

mind guiding?
*
1)Go to recovery mode (Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up)
2)Now go to CPU Speeds and change it.

OR

Press the select button in your XMB (psp main menu),then change it.
Note : You need to enable the VSH menu in recovery mode first.

If you're using eBuddy on your browser, then yes you can open new pages and view other sites, but if you're using AFKIM or any other homebrews, you can't unless you use plugins or any other core applications.

Homebrews are basically games, applications and many more developed by developers using programming languages like C,C++,Lua and SDL.For example, check my homebrew "Playboy's Shooter" which was coded in C.It's in my signature lol

CXMB is basically a plugin which allows the psp to install CTF themes instead of the PTF ones.CXMB is really good as it doesn't alter your psp flash 0 in any ways. This means, your psp won't brick by using this plugin.

Check my CXMB 3.2.1 Guide : here

You can get homebrews from almost every psp scene site out there.I however, only trust a few.
