help me choose. just got my allowance. Thanks in advance you guys.

Btw, what is the cheapest price i can get for both console if I decide to buy both?

From what i've surveyed, it'll be around rm1400++ for both console. any cheaper price?

if i order from play-asia, can i get cheaper price than buying in malaysia.

btw, don't forget to vote.

Edited: since i'm living in JB, is it cheaper to buy in singapore?

As usual it all boils down to what kind of games interest you.

PSP RPGs are mostly PS1 ports, DS RPGs have some old SNES remakes but more new ones.

The FF titles for DS are more cutesy and simple in terms of gameplay. If you don't like these cutesy RPGs then go for the PSP.

I'm a fan of innovative/creative games so I lean over towards the DS.

In my opinion :

Action - PSP

RPG - DS

Adventure - DS

This is how I see it. Gather more opinions and then decide for yourself. The best solution of course is to have both if you love gaming.

Well, I have played both and I love DS more since its more innovatice plus, the games on DS are great.

Don't get me wrong as PSP is also good but it boils down to the games you are playing.

All I can say, PSP gives good graphic while DS is more simple but it utilizes new way how one play the games.

Yep!! i agreed with you, NDS more on simple game but enjoyable; on the PSP excellent graphis and they've focus on enhancing features like videos, mp3 and many applications. For me they are both good.

Hmmm psp has upcoming titles like Kingdom Hearts : Birth by Sleep and Final Fantasy : Dissidia. Which is a good poison biggrin.gif Now you could enjoy some good games on it like Metal Gear Solid : Portable Ops, Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core and God of War : Chains of Olympus.

If you like serious games, buy psp. otherwise buy nds. Anyway, psp has a few interesting strategy-rpg games, mostly similar to final fantasy tactics.
Btw, Last time I was in japan, i bought psp for 17,000+yen(approximately rm550). New year price. Refurbished set is even cheaper. smile.gif

choosing between PSP and NDS is almost like choosing PS3 or wii.
Choosing which handheld to buy is all about the games. PSP have a few good rpgs and alot of good SRPGs. Like FF7 crisis core, Jeane d arc, Brave story, FF tactics, etc.

NDS has many unique games such as Ninja gaiden, Zelda Phantom glass which is good.

nds is more to innovative and fun game, like brain age, ace wright(i dunno, the detective thingy), cute ff game, contra 4 and such. but don't expect full blown graphic like psp.

for psp, graphic is its strength, bigger screen and some great games like patapon, crisis core and GOW.

i've been playing nds for a year. i like the innovative touch screen input, the dual screen, much longer battery life and its collection of fun games. i'm quite bored of it now and i passed it to my little sister.

as for my psp experience, i bought a slim version last month for my brother. but i can't get it off my hand. I've been playing patapon, crisis core and gow. great games.

I prefer NDS more than PSP, i have both of them.

PSP the game is quite limited, though some of them are quite fun and the graphic is on par with ps2...

NDS on the other hand is not really gaming console, it can be very educational, i use it to learn Bimoji, Spanish, maths, Sudoku and etc. Which is very convinent with touch screen.

Depends on what games you play really.

NDS is fun and it keeps you entertained for longer times. PSP does have some superb titles to play but when you're out of the good games you're basically stuck doing nothing.

With titles such as Patapon 2 and LocoRoco 2 announced joining the likes of Star Ocean 1 and 2 remakes plus heavy hitters such as Final Fantasy: Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep coming to the PSP, the system is far from dead.

i wud say the ds lite is reali enjoyable to play and has titles like zelda, pokemon and even the old ff series. plus, remakes of old rpgs such as chrono trigger are coming to the console.

but for me, im gonna go for the psp. why?

1) i wanna play crisis core and gow so bad
2) psp looks waaay cooler than a ds lite
3) with titles lk kingdom heart, dissidia and persona coming out, who wudn't want a psp???

but i agree that less and less games are being introduced for the psp while ds is still going strong with all their new titles.

I may sound a little bias here, but if I were to pick up a handheld portable game console, I'll be buying the PSP. Now, I saw and heard from my bro's girl about the NDS, most of the games are nice, Zelda, Mario and stuff and it is fun because it uses a stylus. However, the graphics, in my opinion is a little much like the usual Gameboy. Also, the games attract girls or kids at the younger age rather than teenage boys.

PSP, wide screen, web surfing, videos, musics. Chotto shot and GPS receiver is enough to make me want to get one. All those comes is like what, 799 without the camera and GPS. And it looks cool, longer than a NDS, but cooler. The games are amazing and uhhh not that boring especially if you own the old Sony Consoles, notable games are like Crisis Core. I'll be getting one after my SPM.

For ur information DS can also web surfing , play videos , play mp3. brows.gif

As for me chotto shot where i used to have it .. errr wad doesnt comes handy as built in ,
then its abit put aside item .. cos everytime u wan to use it u have to plug it in is way too
zzzzzzz after a few times of doing it ..

im not a graphic whore lol but im a gaming whore so i go for varieties of games and i go for DS (my choice)

Well had both consoles ... together at the same time but PSP has been collecting dust since then .. smile.gif

P/s - Online playing to me is the main issue and DS rox on dat thumbup.gif

not actually... it's the touch screen that makes the console unique. now days nintendo come out with more innovative consoles and addon that enable player have more interaction with their console ending the joypad domination.
