Guys and girls,
How do you normally feed dried food for your hamster? Since hamster normally have their favourite grain and less favourite, eg my syrian don't like the pallet and my RCs don't like corn, do you let them finished the portion that they dont like? or top up with new mix? and end up with piles of grain that they don't like? QUOTE(vergas @ Jun 1 2008, 09:55 AM) Guys and girls, All hammies have wat they like to eat and what they don't like to eat. But the portions that they like to eat may not be all the nutrients they need to stay healthy. How do you normally feed dried food for your hamster? Since hamster normally have their favourite grain and less favourite, eg my syrian don't like the pallet and my RCs don't like corn, do you let them finished the portion that they dont like? or top up with new mix? and end up with piles of grain that they don't like? My hammies don't like the alfafa pellets either. Always eat it last. So I Don give them more food till the food is finished (or more or less done. I don't want my robos fighting over 1 or 2 alfafa pellets mar). Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind. |

QUOTE(vergas @ Jun 1 2008, 10:55 AM) Guys and girls, I feed my hamster some japanese brand of mix in a yellow packaging which is suppose to prevent smelly pee. Well, my syrian (and my late dwarf hamster) loves it. I realized my hammie won't eat the alfalfa pellets if they're dark green (like the one sold in cheap mix), but the more expensive mixes, the alfalfa pellets are cream colour and those my hamsters will eat.How do you normally feed dried food for your hamster? Try feeding your hamsters in small amounts and make sure they finish their food before you replenish their bowl. My syrian tends to ignore the corn and dried peas. Sometimes I just toss the remaining food out, if the amount if very little. Or else I'll just leave the food a little longer till she finishes it. I don't want to encourage her to pick and choose her food. |

QUOTE(vergas @ Jun 1 2008, 09:55 AM) Guys and girls, It is normal. Alfalfa pellets do not taste nice, so hamsters rarely eat that. Corn, if never eat is ok coz the nutrition is not that great if compared with alfalfa pellets. I usually top up the food when I see very little is left. This is also one of the reasons why we must feed fresh foods, they gain more nutrition and stay healthy. How do you normally feed dried food for your hamster? Rare means rare colour loh. Well structured means nice face and body. It is hard to find Syrians with nice face and body coz normally I find alot of sharp faced ones.
Neshie, I need to confirm with you later coz I dunno Wednesday I will be free or not. Today Ikano got Sugar Glider talk and sugar glider handling session. Starts at 4pm. |
