This both player looks alike and both of them is a legend...for me i pick Ian Wright because i just love his goal and his celebration...

Wrigth is a legend in his own rights, his goalscoring speaks volumes. Henry on the other hand is a complete player. A thing to note though, he's not playing at his very best in Barca so i'm not sure if he can maintain his form till he retires. Wright on the other hand played as a striker even during the closing stages of his career and maintained his goal scoring abilities in Celtic.

If strictly speaking on goal scoring abilities, i think Wright holds the edge. But Henry can score some really shocking goals and he's more of a team player whereby he can feed his team mates.

that's why is hard to vote because both of them skill looks almost the same,just that henry can assist much more than him...maybe henry lose because he doesn't laugh as much as Ian Wright did hahhaha~

n abit not fair, if the voter is young... i mean watching and spend more time to Henry, then definitely Henry get more votes.

So to me, i vote Henry... cuz i never ever seen Wright play.

i also vote thierry henry...he's a genius clever player...Ian Wright...ermm never really see him play..but i think he's a huge guy right? hmmm something like didier drogba?

both unsuccessful at Juventus. so both is crap in my perspective. so sorry. there is so much more better player to be compare rather than this two player.

Ian Wright was more of a natural goal scorer. He isn't as spectacular as Henry and doesn't have as much ability. He does however have a natural instinct for goals, much like Robbie Fowler. Coincidentally, while both players were scoring for fun for their respective clubs, both had poor international careers. Henry on the other hand scores a goal every two games or so for France and has performed at the highest level. For that, I'm going with Henry.

i vote henry, ability to score wonderful goal ... the 1 against United in 1999 ...

and his record against those top 4 clubs chelsea, MU and liverpool is excellent ...

I really don't see any reason for you to post here, other than to spam. The topic here states who's the better player between Henry and Wright. For discussion sake, if you wanna contribute, you're most welcomed to do so, else leave your spam to other forums. We all know there are possibly better players both past and present that is better than Henry and Wright, but don't deviate from the topic, you either give your opinion or you move on.

Added on May 29, 2008, 1:43 pmYeah, to a certain extent you could say he's freezes in the big stage. Remember the FA Cup Final that we lost to Liverpool 2-1. And then there's the UCL Finals in 2006 and of coz the countless big matches in the EPL and UCL group stages. Arsenal relied too heavily on Henry during the good ol days. If he doesn't play well or too tightly marked, naturally Arsenal don't win.

But he's scored some of the most fabulous goals i've ever seen. From the crazy chip he scored against Barthez to the simplest backheel he scored against Charlton. Some of the memorable goals he scored...Barthez chip and running past 5 Spurs player to score the solo goal and then there's the solo goal he scored against Liverpool when we were 2-1 down at half time. I can't possible name more but he's such a flamboyant player and the goals he scored are simply breathtaking.

Wright on the other hand was happy to tap in goals, score from header, convert penalty kicks and just simply score the 'strikers goals'. You ought to enjoy his celebrations tho.

Go youtube and google abit about Ian Wright then you will know why i compare him and thiery henry because he is as good thiery henry...I used to watch him play at arsenal in mid 90's he is good at runing offside trap and also good at his finishing...

i am not sure about him in juventus,but at arsenal he won the Golden Boot in his first season by scoring 29 league goals,[1] five of which were for Palace, and 31 in all competitions. As of 2007, only Wright and Teddy Sheringham (1992-93 season) have won the top-flight goalscoring award having scored for two different clubs during the season in question.

Talking about chip,Ian wright chip over goalkeeper and score are more than thiery henry when he was at arsenal...Well thats why i vote for him...but i quite admire both player although i am a man utd fans...

To be honest, Henry's "chip" over Barthez was a bit of a lucky one. He was facing the back of the GK from outside the penalty box with Irwin or whoever closing him down, he flipped the ball with his leg and just swing it towards goal without even looking. No doubt its a beauty of a goal but in all honesty, 19 out of 20 such tries would probably ended up outbound or saved by the GK.
