Please dont post No CD in the forums even if the game is legit or is free. It goes against the EULA(and the rules of this forum).

BTW why do you need a No CD patch when it is free?

erm... what I mean is that you might not need any crack at all, just installed and play, no crack required.

I ll confirm it tonight as soon as I m off work.

Technically still illegal...so be safe and dont post links to such No CD crack sites. The source code is under shared source innitiative...It doesnt mean you can simply modify without including the list of changes and the source code. So technically still wrong very flimsy...i know...but software development is that sort of industry.

okay, so no public sharing of cracks then.

anyone able to download MC2? i downloaded straight from microsoft but was unable to extract, as the directory had a "." in it. I cant / dont know how to edit the extraction directory from "./MC2" to "/MC2". Any help? or source to download without problem? torrent is a no go for me, 1-2kb per second =.=

Haha this game is fun.. I remember using 6 Shadowcats all fully loaded with lasers.. pwned the whole campaign.. lol

I tried to get the game from the mechcommander.org site. Even if i used the uni T1 line the download drops off frequently.

So, instead of relying on luck, I search for another site that hosts the free game, and found one. I haven't tried it yet but here it is:

wa....such an old game....i've always wanted the creators to come out with mechcommander 3....but it never realised....sigh....this game is such a nostalgia....finished the game and it was a very nice game for all u robot fans out there....i was wonder how the multiplayer works? free for all? or we team up and fight the AI....

Right now we are trying to gather new comers / old schoolies for this game to have a multiplayer session. but the main site that host the full version of this game is having trouble offering this game for download. I have posted another site that hosts the game.

Oh... I very recently decided to go back to the mechcommander series!

The solo campaign isnt really hard once you start having some few good pilots and know what to put inside the mechs (PPC ftw imo!) The AI isnt that great (they target one mech and focus on it... so if you make this mech run away they will run after it and ignore all your other mech who are pounding on them at short range...) but they have sometimes so many mechs it becomes a challenge.

As of where to download it.... I tried the mechcommander website but was unable to download it from there so I just did another research and downloaded it from torrent (since the game is now free I suppose I can say I took it form torrent here, any moderator can edit otherwise).

I never tried it on multi though so I am unsure which modes are there.

No problem....you can torrent anything freeware/shareware/GPL...anything which is on a shared source license.

Man...why don't they make another of this game? It's so awesome.

blame micro$oft. they seize the game IP yet don't want to develop any more PC games for it...

Yeah...MechWarrior and MechCommander. Perhaps the people that developed it left the company and could not do something from that IP. Let's hope they come up with something "spiritually similar". Like SupCom and Bioshock.

Yar, this game was pretty awesome and I also loved the video and briefing with real actors, that gives to the game a much better immersion (like what they do for the Command and Conquer also).

The intro movie of Mechommander 1 is imo one of the best I have seen for any Strategy type of game. Sure the quality is kinda "meh" nowadays but it still rocks ("I am not equipped with jumpjets Commander!" from the guy in the Raven always crack me up).

And the 1st was far from easy to finish, the beginning when you have only quite crappy mechs and weapons is pretty tough.

The 2nd one, I wish they did not give you the options of calling the repair truck, or limited it in number. And you get the big weapons a bit too quickly imo.

I end up with putting PPC (or the Extended range ones) and LRMs on almost all my mechs, in the campain at the end it's a pure carnage when you have your pilots with the LRMs AND PPC speciality. One salvo = one opposing mech down most of the times.

I actually used mostly PPC in all mechcommander and mechwarrior I played when I think about it...

Damn I need to find back my mechwarrior 4 CDs now

the 1st mechcommander was quite fun.. I still remember having all my 7 firestarter pea shooter to take down the hunchback in one mission... luckily there is still one firestarter left after the hunchback went down ~.~"

In regards to PPC, I prefer autocannon or LBX projectiles weapons. You can take down the legs of most mech faster with that

lol, for MCGold, i love using atlas-es, equip two Heavy LBX, 3 large ER lazers and some SRMs.

can take down any mech, no matter how many, in short order. 3 Large lazers leave some gaping holes in an enemy mech, as your atlas runs towards him. Once close range, LBX shotgun shells exploit these holes.

"EJECTING!!!!"

I still remeber my fav unit is still the last boss with the atlas with jet pack, some how after he dies you can salvage it and continue to use his atlas to attack him again.

lol, u can use cheatcode and salvage any mech u defeat XD

ha, this game ran like dung on my old p3 haha. ok im up for mp, need practice tho

ah dwling at 103kb/s anything from ms servers is fast imo

No I do not cheat on this one, Im saying the last mission, where it should end after I defeated the last boss which is the atlas with jump jet.

can you please post the link? We all cant get it from the ms server.

i used the link baronic provided....

edit:it works, but you have to dig to get the exe file out, and its v.1.0 only i think, and it runs nicely on our hardware
.exe is contained in the folder FinalBuild

Just download from here and run the ISO (in .rar form) with daemon tool.

i dunno about u, but i always get cut off from mechcommander.org halfway downloading. rapidshare only allows max 100mb upload, so the file is splitted
