Hi. This is what i found thru internet.
I am from Kuantan.

Gunung Tapis Park

About 16 kilometres away from Sungai Lembimg is Gunung Tapis, a beautiful nature park. Excellent camping spots can be found in a number of areas. Although still in the early stages of development, Gunung Tapis offers a number of activities. You can shoot rapids on one of the several rivers, or fish for the delectable 'Ikan Kelah' (tortambroides duronesis). The park also abounds with hot springs and wildlife. If you plan to stay overnight, camping and survival equipment are recommended. Prior arrangements for a visit to the park can be made with the Sungai Lembing Tapis Resort.

I think you can find alot of info thru Pahang tourism website.. or simply just type Pahang accomodation/ attractions etc...

Accommodation not sure as we go for day trip.
Started early in the morning from KL and head down straight towards Bukit Panorama and climbed up at 5am.
Park the car at the few rows of shop and walk up the alley behind the shop.
Than we visited gua charas which is in a oil palm estate after breakfast at the market. There's lots of Buddha idols and Indian God's idols.
After that we head down to Sg Pandan Waterfall on the way back. Ask the ppl around for directions.
Bare in mind a lot of steps to climb.

i been there before, if you dont have hiking experience.....
better go for relax mountain -> lembing mout...just take around 45min to reach peak.
Normally they start hike at 5.30am to wait the sunrise.

Gunung Tapis take the trip 2d 1n , camp in jungle if i not mistaken.
Beside hiking, you can go "rainbow waterfall".
Rent the Lorry or 4W to go in, and take around 45min jungle trekking to reach there. (Advice reach the waterfall before 10am, before 10am you can see the rainbow around the waterfall)

Last time i have visit a house, that house have alot crystal.
A couple (age groupd >50)staying there, private house.
You can visit him on sunday, he frendly~

Last time i stay in the town, just beside the food stall/hakka hall. One person around RM25.

Yo Karwaie,

Thank you for the great information. I will list it down and hope to visit all the places that you mentioned.

Besides, Im kinda confuse with the statement "Rent the Lorry or 4W to go in, and take around 45min jungle trekking to reach there. (Advice reach the waterfall before 10am, before 10am you can see the rainbow around the waterfall"

Is this mean, if we dont rent car, we need to walk for 45mins to reach to the water fall? rclxub.gif Kinda confuse here.

Anyway, thumbup.gif thank you for the info. sweat.gif

What he meant is you need to go in first by either 4wd vehicle or lorry which the road is jungle and muddy road.
Than after entering, will need to trek another 45 minutes to the waterfall.
Haven't been there yet...maybe next trip around.

I grew up in Kuantan but unfortunately, I seldom go to sg lembing.

I'm going to sg lembing next weekend, we are staying in kuantan and drive to sg lembing early in the morning. Now, we are planning for the accommodation. I've been there 2 times, one is when I'm small and one is a few months ago.

Bukit Panorama!!!
A must in Sg Lembing for the sun rise and the sea cloud. Check out the pictures and you will know why.

Been to pandan waterfall, but never been to the rainbow waterfall which you need to take a 45mins 4WD drive to that place. I heard is nice. Pandan waterfall itself is quite good.

Teluk Chempedak is a famous beach in Kuantan besides another beach that have black sand. Teluk Chempedak is a place to go during the lantern festival. The whole beach is full of candles and lanterns "in" the sand. I would recommend that if you happen to go there at that time.

Oh ya, I found out this link during a google search http://www.showcaves.com/english/my/mines/SungaiLembing.html
I might contact them to let us visit the factory. I remembered that you need to have someone to bring you in to have a look in the factory for mining process and purifying process. I still keep some of the raw tin in my house during the visit when I'm small.

Besides that, sg lembing noodles, yong tou foo and also the biscuit with square sharpe (dunno what's the name) is also a must eat food. If you can, try visit the tradition bakery factory.

I have some material on this, will post it when I'm back after work.
If I'm not wrong, their advise for this waterfall is to go there the 2nd day after your visit to the bukit panorama for the sea cloud. Cause you can only see the rainbow at a certain time, and it clashes with the bukit panaroma sea cloud.

http://chow033.multiply.com/photos/album/4...aterfall_080524

PS: Not everytime you go to sg lembing that you will be lucky enough to see the sea cloud, rainbow waterfal, sunrise or even the mining factory. It all depends on the weather. Better don't go there when there's a flood.

Hi Seowqj,

Thank you for the useful information on all the link and brief explanation given.
Really apppreciate it very much.

I do hope that I can keep this page for all the people that wish to visit Sg. Lembing in future. All the link below will actually give you enough information to go there and how attractive the place is.

Besides, I plan to go to sg lembing on this coming July.... what do you mean by "Better don't go there when there's a flood"? Hope that July would be the good time to go.

Thank you.

Regards,

the so called square biscuits are the coconut biscuits.. yes. is a must to have a taste on it. the price for the noodles and food are cheaper there as most of the customers are neighbours.. The noodles are different, called Lembing noodle. as this usually home-made by those living at Sg Lembing. You wont have the normal "yellow noodle" taste.. (the taste which some people dislike it).

A big NO-NO.. coz east coast penisular malaysia (KELANTAN, TERENGGANU & PAHANG) is having monsoon season now..
Sg Lembing is flood-prone area. Please choose another dates.. I think you need to wait year 2009 then only have the chance to visit Sg Lembing

im from kuantan and had climb sg lembing hill (not mountain) lol.. many times. and been to raindow waterfall 2 times.

advice is dun go during monsoon season. the sg lembing hill can be scaled daily.... no need 100% fit also nvm coz middle got place to rest.
btw, the shop in front of the alley (staircase) to start the climb is actually... a morgue. lol... not to scared u guys. the view on top will make up for it.

for rainbow waterfalls, there is a shop in town that can rent 4wd to go in with 1 guide. 4wd will go until the river and then u guys have to cross the river to start your 45 mins trek to the waterfalls. if it rains in the morning.. u guys gonna get "camel adventure " i.e. muddy road and 1 thing to beware... leeches. bring some salt water just in case.

food to look for: ketchup mee and the yong tau hu.

u guys can stay in kuantan and drive to sg lembing around 3.30am or 4am as the drive in will take like 45mins - 1 hour. becareful during the drive as there will be cows / goats in the middle of the rad and its foggy at some stretch. safety first! start early and go slow. careful of 2 deadly corner (look more like a U-turn) before reaching the town. go slow!

u guys can scale the sg lembing hill 1st then come down for breakfast then continute to rainbow waterfalls. tips - if u stand below the waterfalls u can see rainbow around u~... becoz of the splashing water. safety note - if u guys see dark cloud... better get moving coz it indicate rainfall at other places which will possibly coz sudden rise in the water flow from the waterfall above u.

hope u guys enjoy sg lembing... back to nature yeah~~

@supeman, if it's possible can you provide the contact or the shop name for the rental for guide and 4wd to the waterfall?

Thanks.

just came back from sg. lembing. below are some of the accommodation details we found

If you come by bus (no private transportation), it is best if you stay in Sg. Lembing town. We found only one guesthouse right in the middle of the town. We saw many young ppl near the lobby, and it gives us the feel of a backpacker lodge.
Sg. Lembing Rest House
019-9082193
019-9040389
019-9161492
012-9009622

If you come by bus but wish for a quieter accommodation more suitable for family, you can try this but it's about a km (i think less than a km) from the town.
Hotel Sungei Lembing & Cafe
019-9981126
09-5411924
We stayed here during our trip. Nice, clean and budget. We stayed in a double bed room with a/c and bathroom for RM50 per night, and a 4-person room (one double bed and two single beds) with a/c but shared bathroom for RM60. This hotel is actually more like homestay with regfrigerator, television, clean drinking water, bathrooms (three shared bathrooms downstair and one upstair), shower cream in each bathroom (but we couldn't find shampoo) and towel. It is located less than a km from the town market, near the police station. Its location is at the crossroad to Rainbow Waterfall, Gunung Tapis, Hot Spring, Deer Farm, Orang Asli Settlement. The owner operated a restaurant called Yong Seong Restaurant 永顺茶室 that serves vegetarian dishes. Its 'wat tan hor' and ketchup noodle are featured in chinese magazine called Travelmate 旅游玩家 2007 Oct/Nov edition (i bought this magazine from the restaurant itself).

The two accommodation above are located on Jln. Sg. Lembing, which means you don't have to cross the river. The other accommodations we found are located on the other side of the river, which i think you will need a private vehicle to travel to (the bus only stops along Jln. Sg. Lembing) unless you are a serious walker/trekker. smile.gif

Lembing Village Resort
09-5411831
019-9070854.

Sg. Lembing Homestay
09-5412395
Operated by the manufacturer of Sg. Lembing noodle (I dunno if there's more than one manufacturer, but this one is across the jambatan gantung). We got to know this when we bought some noodles from them. Its a small double storey brick house with three rooms, costing RM200 per night for the whole house).

ACF Retreat Centre
019-9551405

There's also a nice bungalow with garden called Lembing Resort, but its signboard does not list any phone no. We saw a few singaporean car parked at the front. If anyone has stayed here before, please provide its contact details here.

Hi all,

I just came back from the Rainbow Waterfall. Had a great time and had a great tour guide. Can't remember the number. Need to get it from my friend as he booked it. We went in a group of 20. Some pictures as attached. My guide was great cause he actually made us enjoy the trip and he was helpful too. My friend had no proper shoes/slippers and my guide did his best to get it for us. We took the option to all fit into the back of a lorry as we want all 20 people to be together.

We did not stay in Sg Lembing but had a great meal there. Cheap and nice food.

Let me get the contact and i will provide it here.

For now, enjoy the pictures below:-

Hi, we are planning to go Sg. Lembing on this 18th Dec.
I found that Sungai Lembing area is in ALERT state of flooding during this monsoon season.
Is that true?

We are planning to hike the Bukit Panorama & Rainbow waterfall. This area will be close during raining season? icon_question.gif

Thanks for advise.

Has anyone visited Sg Lembing (kuantan) before?
What are the recommendation places to go other than Sg Lembing hill and Rainbow waterfall?

Planning to go in June, hopefully this is not a raining season. May plan to get a tour guide to bring us to Rainbow waterfall. If you know any agent, plz let me know. Thanks smile.gif

I just came back from Sungai Lembing during Chinese New Year. I would say that if you are not into nature, village, and very simple accommodation, this is not a place for you. But honestly, it felt so peaceful to be in there. If I were to be given another opportunity to visit this place again, I would be more than happy to go. smile.gif

Hi there,
I'm planning to visit Sungai Lembing and hike up the bukit lembing around end of this month.
May I know the weather there? Is it a nice period to visit there?
I'll be staying in Kuantan and travel to Sungai Lembing to catch the sunrise there.
Thanks!
