Quick Cuts From The Press Room... -source mtvasiaawards.com

Fresh off winning their respective awards, the artists head on down to the designated Press Room, where MTV Asia gets some valuable, hilarious and sometimes shocking revelations from the stars.

Li Yu Chun

"I feel really happy to win this, of course, and coming here for just a short while, and being able to see all the good performances, I do feel the pressure already, so I'll definitely work harder."

"Regarding my fashion sense and style, I think it's best you speak to my stylist actually. I really depend on him to sort my outfits."

TOR+ Saksit

"As for the changing trends in music, well the world is getting smaller, and a few years back, we had a Chinese pop fever, now a Korean pop fever. We're taking turns to rotate trends of each country's music. Each country has their own style and it's good that we're opening out hearts to new experiences."

"I've recently started to learn Mandarin, Han yu. And I really like the music of Jay Chou and Wang Lee-Hom. These two have managed the fine line between being a pop star and being an artist. People can tell the difference between being celebrities and artists."

"I'm actually in two minds about it. At first I wanted to put my new trophy in the closet of my home studio. But now as I look at it, I just feel like putting it in the fridge, because it looks so much like a Toblerone chocolate bar."

OneRepublic

"My dad loves all the ballad singers of the '80s. I've been to Michael Bolton's concert, his hair scared me, by the way. I've seen Michael McDonald. Name all the cheesiest artists in the world, I've seen them all, and yes, I know you're printing this."

"We tried Malaysian food today, and it was just amazing. You guys mix fruit and meat in wonderful ways... We're just going to eat our way across Asia. You guys have totally convinced Zach, who always thought that fruit should be dessert and meat entree."

"The hardest thing to apologize for? Well, probably getting caught with someone else other than your spouse. And nope, I didn't do any of it. It happened to me, actually. Twice, in fact. But who's counting? It's too late!" [Laughs]

"Rihanna could sing 'Happy Birthday' and it could go to #1 at this point. In fact, I think it's going to be her next single, featuring err... Kanye West."

"I didn't know Leona Lewis was going to perform today, until I saw her boyfriend or fiance or something sitting in the audience."

"Judging from the reaction we received today, we'd definitely love to come back to Malaysia. We promise, and don't worry, we don't break our promises. We're not George Bush."

Nicholas Teo

"I'm not so famous in Malaysia? I work really hard, and I'm proud to be a Malaysian. In any case, I won the award today, so I think yes, I am quite famous here."

"I'm a huge fan of Dato Siti, but... Sorry Dato. For winning." [Laughs]

"I did one thing I'm very happy about tonight! I met Leona Lewis, and I said, 'Oh, great show'!"

Show Lo

"My fans have given me a really good birthday present. My birthday was a couple of days ago. So all the voting from my fans, enabling me to win this award, has been a really great present."

"Meetin all the international artistes today, I suddenly felt like everyone's my idol. And I was just on the floor watching a concert!"

"I didn't spend a lot of time doing my outfit and hair today. I just picked something out of my wardrobe. Everything's cool in my wardrobe anyway!" [Laughs]

"How do I rate my English? I give myself one thousand hundred... Dang. I meant, I give myself one hundred marks for my English!" [Laughs]

The Script

"Today's probably the best crowd response we ever had. We thought the Irish were crazy. They'd go out, have a drink and have a lot of fun. But you guys beat that. You do it sober! What happens if you have a drink?!"

"We kind of feel like we shouldn't be here tonight! Like we're out of their league. But we're still really honored to be here. And what's more, we're the only band invited to play here, who hasn't had an album yet!"

"We keep it true to our band name, The Script. So that's why we do everything ourselves, down to the songwriting, and even the making of the video, the story behind it and all."

"Thank you for listening to us, in our Irish accents. We hope you understand us!"

Leona Lewis

"I've learnt to just enjoy everything I do. I've been given an amazing opportunity to do what I'm doing. I'm just not taking anything for granted."

"I'm not really disappointed in not getting to do the Bond theme. There's a lot of other activities I'm involved in right now, so no, I didn't really stop to think about it."

"My top favorite vegetarian food is first and foremost tofu, lots of it. I really love all kinds of vegetables as well, brown rice, chilli because it's also important to have a lot of flavour in vegetarian food."

Stefanie Sun

"Did I come here expecting to lose? I came here expecting to win! I think everyone should. You put in hard work, even thugh the competition is there. You should always say, 'I hope I win, I hope I win'."

"Who's my favorite Asian artist of all time? Me lah... [Laughs] But okay lah, I do like Faye Wong. Everybody likes Faye Wong."

"I wanted to meet the Pussycat Dolls. Very larger-than-life characters. I saw them when I was waiting for the lift. Nicole's really pretty and I hear they're very friendly, unlike some... I was too shy to talk to them though!"

"What does it mean to win this award 5 times in a row? It means I'm popular? [Laughs] But really, it's very comforting to know that you're still something in the music industry after so many years."

"How to break into the west?! [Sings] 'Go West...' I think it's really hard for Asian faces, but I think Electrico has and is doing a pretty good job."

Chicosci

"Winning the award, we feel really loved right now. We're just a bunch of high school kids who want to sing. And now we're here, and we got to hug the Pussycat Dolls! Yes!!!"

"We've reached step one with Nicole. She's half-Filippines, as you know. We have a grand master plan all set out. I guess it gives us something to talk about!"

Karen Mok & Jared Leto

Jared Leto: "How do I deal with people who know me more for my acting? Usually with pure rage. [Laughs] But no, people respond differently to everything, so it's fine. It's good to have different types of appreciation for a process of fulfillment, not for the artist, but in the giving away of what you do."

Karen Mok: "I love animals. More so animals with fur. Because I'm totally against animal fur in clothing."

Jared Leto: "Where are me and Karen going to hang tonight? We actually got engaged after the Super Junior award. I proposed to her, and she's promised to teach me Chinese."

Jared Leto: "Me, brooding? No no, I think I'm quite cheerful, actually. [Laughs] I'm just not a natural-born host, so I apologize for that."

Jared Leto: "What goes through my mind when I'm hitting my high notes? It's 'Please God, help me'!"
