Fernandes said AirAsia India chief executive officer Mittu Chandilya and team have been clearing all the tasks he had asked them to undertake.
The NOC means AirAsia India would now be able to import aircraft into its base in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Fernandes had said before that the operations in India would continue to use Airbus A320.
The next move for AirAsia India would be to apply for an airline licence from the aviation regulator Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Once that is done then the operations can kick-off.
AirAsia India, which already started hiring in India had plans to start flying by year-end, with initial focus in South India.
AirAsia India is a 40:30:21 joint venture between AirAsia Bhd, Tata Sons and Arun Bhatia’s Telestra Tradeplace Pvt Ltd Current price 2.56 per share... kinda low if we see the price based on 365 days... worth to enter? |
