Please be more specific in your question. What thread you went to? What did you do to add Malaysia into the list? What is the firmware of your iPhone? You know....stuff like that.

That will help us to troubleshoot your problem more easily.

Did you do Step 5? The backup one? If you did, try putting back in the original file and try again. If it's working, redownload the required file and follow the guide again. The guide has no problem, mine is working well.

Did you rename the file as stated?

yup, but i think i found where the problem is, i install the regional patch 1.1.4 (iclarified) before i copy the file, maybe that's why the instruction not work to me.

my current ABAddressformat.plist is larger than the file downloaded

hmmm....ok

If that solves the problem, then just add [SOLVED] to the title of the thread so that the moderator can close the thread.

What does this regional patch 1.1.4 do? Seems like if we install this patch then the other patch (malaysia in contacts, appsupport) does not work.

I didnt install the regional patch....I dont even have the appsupport patch. After unlocking my phone, everything works without those patches and I just added Malaysia into the country list. That's all. Maybe the patches contradicts each other.

I'm back!!

after reformat my iphone and redo all the instruction to add country, i still can make it, therefore it don't have any relation to the regional patch i download.

However i found a link which can help windows user to edit plist file:

http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi

by using this i create my own ABAddressformat.plist >> http://www.filefactory.com/file/1f40ec/

btw, thank you guys time.

Been using it to convert plist files but it have limitation. Can only convert 128Kb only. I've been using plutil from erica saduns utilities. Some plist must be in the binary format as in before conversion.

i just copy the whole 'singapore' format and paste right after the end of singapore format, then change to 'Singapore' to 'Malaysia', save it, move it to iphone through winscp, restart, and the problem solve.
