Just my opinion...

Quite not agree with the dota required more teamwork than melee.

It somehow occurred that DOTA required more teamwork, it's because DOTA is always 5v5. While melee you can range from 1v1 to 6v6.

If you tried a game of 3v3 or more, then teamwork is very important.
Example on 4v4:
You can have 4 person rush to one guy base at a time with 3 to 4 unit each.
However, the defending party can choose either to get everyone to help, or split into 2 forces: one to assist, and the other to launch attack on attacking player base.

On top of that, unit combination is important here.
You wont have time to research all you units to tier 3. Most likely you will focus on a few units, while your teammates can focus on others unit.


Previously I played a lot of 3v3.
Normally we can do a good early rush, by mixing NE archer, Orc Grunt and Footman. Most of the time we can destroy, or paralyzed one player from the game, and it would become a 3v2.
Sometimes we can have a player to mass technology. The player would just train a hero and a few basic unit, build some towers so that it can hold for a while if someone is attacking. The stress will be on the other 2 players. However, once this player get to tier 3, it's a gg. Mass Chimera, Mass Frost Wyrm or even Mass Wind Rider.

If you are playing alone or a 2v2, for NE, I saw most players only mass huntress, which is something that are not supposed to do if you are playing a team game. In team game, archer is a hell lot better.
