kek. this is just fear mongering attitude.
Anyhow, if they can fire an employee because of that or give a warning letter, and the employee put it out online.

Project kena halt if they are key person to a project.
Very annoying for those people who do scripting halfway with the flow and get annoyed by this.

Just know when to turn off and on. When the higher ups aka HR and Management question they will know what they doing is bad laugh.gif

i thought now Intel freezes hiring for permanent BB?

i know the intern program is still on.

Well GT to Perm BB is considered as Internal Transfer, not related to hiring freeze based on Pat's words.

I think this very hard to say tbh. lmao.
Unless you go to Singapore work as fresh grad, already SGD $4500 min. at Micron.

Well I guess Intel Malaysia should really keep their employees together from their Good Place to Work program and be more vocal and active.
Otherwise, braindrain to rakan AMD @ Bukit Jambul (Equatorial Hotel) or people lompat to Singapore for the exchange rate. Albeit kennot get car. Unless you plan to purposely make a U-Turn at causeway every week (based on what I read online).

then now they may take in less GT. and in the near term, a few interns will be joining.
but looking at the downturn in the semiconductor industry in general, where PC demand is expected to fall going forward and both AMD and Nvidia also reduce their wafer order from TSMC from initial estimates. it will not be a good 6 months going forward. expecting the quarterly bonus will be lower. hopefully the salary raise will be competitive as inflation rise. 🙁

I don't think there will be a downturn for Semiconductors industry. People are still data hungry and need to be online, making Server Chips and Licensing IPs should be favourable.
You should be worry whether Voluntary Separation Package (VSP) with certain projects being killed... rclxub.gif

Just curious where you get your news tho? I don't mind spend some reliable websites to read trustworthy Semiconductor Industry news and speculations. hmm.gif

Intel's CEO will take a 25% pay cut, as the company attempts to compete with global chip manufacturers and prevent further layoffs

Intel's CEO and members of its executive team will take pay cuts of up to 25%, Reuters reported.
Intel told Insider the company is working "to reduce costs across the company."
The move aims to free up cash for investments in line with company strategy, Intel said in a statement.

Intel's CEO and its executive leadership team are taking pay cuts of up to 25%, as the company attempts to navigate a shaky economy and avoid further layoffs, Reuters reported.

A spokesperson for Intel told Insider the company has made "several adjustments to our 2023 employee compensation and rewards program," part of a larger effort to "navigate macro-economic headwinds and work to reduce costs across the company."

"These changes are designed to impact our executive population more significantly and will help support the investments and overall workforce needed to accelerate our transformation and achieve our long-term strategy," the spokesperson said.

Intel's chief executive Pat Gelsinger is taking the largest cut at 25%, while other higher-ups will have their salaries reduced by 5%, 10%, or 15%, per Reuters.

The move announced Tuesday comes as Intel's stock continues to slump, after the chip manufacturer's value was halved in the last year, Bloomberg reported. The company's stock has been volatile in recent weeks, after recovering somewhat from a low last fall.

It also comes as other companies opt for executive pay cuts in an effort to prevent mass layoffs. Among them is Apple CEO Tim Cook, who is taking a 40% pay reduction this year, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this month.

Still, Intel hasn't been totally impervious to layoffs — the tech giant warned California officials earlier this week it plans to layoff more than 340 employees from its Folsom campus, stating it is "identifying cost reductions and efficiency gains," per local outlets.

Intel predicted one of the worst quarters in its history last week, as the PC market cools following years of growth during the pandemic, according to Bloomberg.

The pay cuts aim to free up cash within the company to be invested elsewhere — with the aim to save up to $10 billion per year by 2025 — as Intel looks to build new manufacturing plants in the US and Europe, seeking to compete with chip manufacturers in Asia, Bloomberg reported.

Intel Layoffs Announced After Company Sees Largest Quarterly Loss Ever

A wave of layoffs continues to rattle the tech industry, with semiconductor chip manufacturer Intel on Monday confirming that it plans to cut its workforce to reduce costs.

The company declined to share how many workers would be affected but said the layoffs would take place across the company.

“Intel is working to accelerate its strategy while navigating a challenging macro-economic environment,” the company said in an emailed statement. “We continue to invest in areas core to our business, including our U.S.-based manufacturing operations, to ensure we are well-positioned for long-term growth.”

Intel last month reported its largest quarterly loss in company history amid a slump in personal computer sales. First-quarter net loss was $2.8 billion and revenue was down 36% year-over-year.

Despite the loss, the company paid out $1.5 billion in dividends.

Reuters reported the Santa Clara, California-based company cut employee and executive pay earlier this year. And The Wall Street Journal in October reported that Intel was beginning targeted job cuts and aimed to reduce costs by $3 billion in 2023.

Depends how you get rejected. sweat.gif
They give you a link, when you clicked enter, and tell you straight in your face, you're not eligible.

Otherwise, you applied all the way through and get filtered by some HR I guess...?

I did not apply since I just 2.5 years working in Intel. (1.5 years in PSG)...
If I go, package doesn't sounds too good. Despite getting 2-3 months salary sweat.gif
But unable to be in Intel for a year.

So far I like the company. Just abit tiring with the VSSs/CPMs happening throughout 2022/23... rclxub.gif
If I get CPM/VSS not sure where I'll be next mega_shok.gif

Since I feel everything now I do is just half-bucket of water. shakehead.gif

Not sure why you wanna be one of them.

Can't use our coffee machines. Can't buy ESPP stocks.
Other than that everything is normal or lesser specific benefits.

Thanks for the reply,
I got an offer from Intel as contract, it is significantly higher than my current pay.
It's stated in the offer letter that I'm able to purchase stocks and some other benefits.
Becuz I heard only BB are able to enjoy the facilities and I forgot to ask the recruiter about the badge. sweat.gif
*
any mentioned about duration of the contract?
Or are you used to the idea working from contract to contract?
