I think is based on teams management and project type one hor.

You don't get paid top Gs to do monkey work, No free lunch in this world sadly. In this sense, Lattice seems to be a better choice but they seem to scale their hiring by alot.

Ultimately, Intel is still good in some ways if money is not your top priority cause money can't buy everything.

As much as it's a mess, there is some structure that is still in place. Talk to those that went over to AMD, documentation is something that they miss the most when they try to find details of the IP and what not. While WFH is still a perk, it's also a downfall especially for those who are not efficient but can't deny it's something that money can't buy either.

These are the two that I value most still.

need Chipz to comment on Lattice I guess.

What about the PFCC / Selangor IC Design Park bunch from Oppstar, SkyeChipe, MaiStorage, etc...



3.5 years in Intel (IPG+PSG), 0.5 years in Altera.

I haven't reach RM 6k.
Fresh Grads are paid higher than me, those with Masters RM 7k...

Meanwhile I do burst liver monkey work RM 5k for near 4 years...

False advertising ini. But good lah. I can go tell director if I get a job pays more than this amount.

So far last year I told me director about the RM 5k-7k salary.
He said this is for overseas fresh grads, got insider people. Not sure is it really draw big biscuit.
But I wasn't concern since I liked my department and people.

Intel Community is the first best benefit workplace community. I stayed so long, not sure really jumping and starting fresh from zero again is something I wanted to do.

Given the glory days, of Intel Business Units, have budget hosts Great Place to Work Events.
Mental Health Support Care Packages (Foods Boxes during COVID era). Shuttle/Grab Transport to work.
Fruits and Free Soda Drinks.

Might be for better or for worst. But then I better get a proper N+1 VSS package lah.

People generally in Intel/Flex/Altera are generally nice people from the PG14/15/16 building.
PG12/7/8/9 More safety concerns everywhere. I remember I was walking up a starts holding my phone, get warned by staff.

Otherwise is people park in PG7/8 MLSCP Carpark. Laju abit speed limit, or jaywalk, heard will kena COC also...

from my experience in ddg design team, Intel has too much documentation till it is a messed, unorganized. I think anyone can open a new page and write a page of documentation on the same topic. lol.

i believe documentation will take time to build especially by the rtl designer. fantasy1989 AMD Penang by now should already have documentation in proper order right?

since you Altera can jump to Lattice. good pay. or join Design Park, near your aging parents. my personal type is don't like to stay in a company too long. after 3 years can start looking for other opportunities. better still, join startup. it is a fun learning experience in a startup. challenge yourself and experience new place, people, culture. of course need to come with good salary increment lah.

if adventurous can join Nvida new RnD center in Taiwan. they are actively hiring now. got invited for the interview.

Lol then its your team not following proper documentation protocol la for top secret and confidential documents. Things like HAS needs to be checked in and checked out and we have proper version control. Need to go through review with microarchitect / architect to push through changes also

Got. Skyechip will give 5k-6k freshgrad even in their Penang branch if you are good. But workload also like dog. Expect you to OT past 5pm and on weekends as well. I guess the extra salary is for your OT pay biggrin.gif

And skyechip is also willing to dump a lot of money on you if you are good. If you are useless, they will soft force you out with low single digit increment during focal.

HAS/MAS is another thing. that thing needs time to be updated also, especially at project TR state. and this applies to any project at any company.

what i actually referring to is the other internal site that teaches you the details. not project specific.

4 years and not 6k is not unusual. Perhaps I think that's normal Assuming you've gotten a promo.

Which company paying Masters freshies 7k?

Again, after 2022, Intel's compensation has been bad.

Hmmm........I don't work on DDG stuffs so can't comment there. The IPs that I work on have pretty good documentation with proper rev details.

Know someone who joined AMD a month ago just saying that they don't have any spec anywhere to refer. Just go there and die. If you don't die, you made it then.

this one must be someone in Intel already did it for you lah, especially the microarchitect designer as they are the one that define the spec. for any new project the microarchitect designer will come out with the documentation one. and i believe this kind of documentation is done in any company, not unique to Intel only.

I don't believe that there is no documentation in AMD. else, how other engineers do the work without reference and it is unproductive. unless one man show then no need documentation lah or you are the boss then need to come out with document yourself lor, for other engineers to use, which is expected.
