Don't eat just before exercising.. Running after a full meal will almost certainly guarantee you a stitch. Even drinking too much water will produce that sensation. It will occur less as you exercise regularly. I'm talking purely based on my own experience.

I read an article about stitch on a fitness magazine last year.
It mentioned that taking a couple of deep breath SLOWLY will ease the pain during exercise.
It works in my case though.
And Keep yourself hydrated too.

It's basically an abdominal muscle cramp i think. Nothing too serious. Frequency depends on your shape, and whether you're well warmed to begin

side pain is maybe the food you ate haven digest. if u feel very pain you should stop jogging. because it may led to apendix. I had the same prob too.

Wikipedia while sometimes biased is still a great information resource and Google is your friend.

I have that too.

Even if I eat or didn't eat, I still have pain.

Try stretching your muscles before running... it helps.

This is usually caused by shallow breathing. While you are exercising, take deep regular breathing. Usually people who are no used to exercising regularly will tend to hold their breaths at certain times, resulting in gasping for air and side stitch.

My basketball coach used to tell us to take long and deep breath if u have the pain. Beside, stretch the abs by touching the floor by bending while standing straight, it does help.

i cant run too..always after run, my side will be pain...my trainer said might be the way i run is not rite wor..
or it could be because my body are lack of 'gum'...so when i run, the joint of my bones will pain...
so i walk instead of running in the treadmills
