QUOTE(kinwawa @ Jun 4 2008, 09:53 AM) tat's wat they propose..free market....i went to US and they have like SALE!! SALE!!! Today 10% for fuel...something like tat....price of petrol changes everyday Plus, petro station needs time to change system if new subsidy base on mycad/salary/quota. Pls dun compare ppl earning in EUROPE n ppl earning in M'sia w/o comparing tax structure etc..... and....dun panic ppl....SUBSIDY will still be here....just tat the method of 'implementation' has not been finalized....either thru mykad, based on salary range...or quota for filling petrol etc..... DO you all really think they can implement it w/o giving back subsidy (reduced one maybe)???? One toll citizen also dowan pay......can fight n protest........if RM3-4/litre...i think petronas building might get burned....or u'll c ppl rallying n protesting for PM to step down like wat happened in Thailand... Added on June 4, 2008, 9:54 amPS: M'sian have been too pampered liao hehehehehe....... Hardware needs to be change/upgrade, staff needs to be trained...etc. |

When I said spend more now, I was refering more towards things like petrol for your car or the shirt off your back, things that most likely would be more costly in future...

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jun 4 2008, 03:59 PM) Be prepared this scheme being abused or implementation wise become chaotic. I wonder if second hand motorcycle is entitled?Let say a businessman own a BMW, so no subsidy, but he buys a motorcycle for his employee to ride to work, as part of job benefit, but motorcycle is under the businessman name, so the businessman get the cash? See, straight away a loop hole found in short period of time. It is not an easy task if gov decide to go on this way. |

QUOTE(alivecmh @ Jun 4 2008, 11:33 PM) Petronas shouldn't be privatize in the 1st place. If petronas belong to the gov, the net profit goes into gov and the RM40b subsidies is nothing compare to the USD80B net profit. read this if your interested...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petronas |

QUOTE(zWinceZz @ Jun 5 2008, 10:30 AM) But isn't it puzzling that he would raise fuel prices now, with all the factors against him? To quote him, "It is not an attempt to be popular, we have to think in the best interests of the people," ..... hows increasing fuel by 40% and Diesel 70% gonna be the best interest of the people? |
