iPhone is using GoogleMaps which requires an internet connection. With the limited number of countries available for selection in the address book, it is simply unable to pinpoint your exact location through GoogleMaps.

i dont think so
where I cant even hook up my external BT handsfree to iPhone
so i doubt the GPS receiver will do the job.

the bluetooth GPS can't be used with iPhone so far. btw, there's a device that can do it, and it's connected to the iPhone via wifi or dock connector (i forgot which one is). i've seen the video before. it's a real GPS device, not only by triangulating cell towers or picking wifi beacon.

simply put, u can't pair your bluetooth GPS receiver with the iPhone.

Bluetooth on Iphone is currently only supporting audio device .. like a handfree kit ...
it's not made to do file/data transfer hence not support the external GPS receiver ...so sad to say.. at the moment there is no GPS device for iphone except for the wi-fi locator thingie

ok ok u r right.
i just wanna say that it exists. so it does exist. and so i don't see it to be wrong. and i already wrote bout the unavailability of the module in market as for now, read here:

i've wrote that earlier so it would not mislead people on it.

oh btw bout this,

ok it's an addon device. but i have one question, isn't the bluetooth GPS module also an addon device?
maybe u wonder why i don't use the word "mod" as per what u suggest. it's because it has nothing to do with modification on the iPhone itself. it's only a software, plus an addon device which is plugged to the dock. so theoretically it's an addon, and it's just similar with any GPS module in the market, only differs in how it interacts with the phone.

btw i'm not saying that the usage of the term "mod" is totally wrong. only that i find the word "addon device" to be more appropriate. ok ok if u said i'm wrong, i'm cool with that so don't worry. so if it's a mod, then the existing bluetooth GPS modules available in the market are also supposedly called as mods too (depending on the way it's defined, no matter how it is). so even the iPhone GPS module is still called as a mod, i don't see it to be wrong in the whole picture as it is just the same.

i'm just trying to share some infos here. that's all.
