i fell in love with westies when i was a kid i remember drawing westies i saw from the encyclopedia ..

i like white fur dogs n maybe thats one of the reason why..
my previous dog Dollee is white too but local mix breed,... My grandpa bought it back in 1988 (1988-2005)
Passed away when she is 17yrs old..here is my dollee www.mydollee.com

Took me some time to get over it.. Now i feel like getting a new dog but i am still waiting for my new house to be renovated. planning to get a westie.. just now i started reading from page 1 till page 28 on this thread to get to know more bout westie n reading post from westie owners...

Seems like getting one from irene sounds like a good idea since i saw scubby's picture... soooo adorable.. i dont mind travelling to penang to get one since getting a dog is smth longterm for 15-20 yrs to come.
Need to discuss wif my family first before jumping in the westie bandwagon..lol

btw to all the westie owners here..all of your westies are so cute...
casper, moonie, marquis, snow, snowball, tweety n scubby ....

Here are some additional pictures of Marquis. This guy is so cute because of his fur being so long. His head can style macam macam but this is trying to impersonate the lion-cut. Her body fur is even thicker, making him look so round and chubby but actually he's not once you wet him during the shower. I brought him out for a walk yesterday, first time, on leash - he enjoyed it very much.

To joey, better make sure u do some research on the parents before getting the new westie...its really crucial. Its because this infection are originally from the genes.
*
yeah.. am reading up on westie's before i buy..
need to do a lot research... might get from irene from penang ..maybe next next litter..

my last dog accompanied me for nearly 17 yrs n its been 3 yrs since she left me..
i guess its time for me to get a new dog...

No they're not.. The owner of this dogs are not keen on them anymore and will be surrendering them to me.
*
obviously the owner is not a responsbile pet owner.. no offence or i might be wrong..
This reason "not keen anymore" simply shows he/she is not responsible pet owner n how can one abandon their pets just like that
if the reasons are too busy with work cant look after them or smth more reasonable then it shud be fine.. but not keen in them anymore??coz they dun look as cute anymore then abandon them? gosh they are animals with feelings too .. i feel a pity for them..
i hope u can take good care of them... if u dun mind try bring them for a good grooming session and they can turn out pretty ..if they have any skin conditions then get medications or supplements .

Having a dog is like having a baby, big responsibility ..
u need to feeed them , spend time with them , buy toys n treats for them, bring them for grooming sessions...
if they fall ill then bring them to see doctor.. etc etc

Wow, what dog did you have for 17 years?! So long!!! The longest I've heard so far is 16 years, a distant relative's small dog, dunno what breed. Like Daschnund but it's not.
Yea, I think almost same time but 2 mths apart. I am not sure if females has more fur than males. I've seen some males with a lot of fur, thick and long, look like female. Lalala...

its a mixed breed local dog..spitz fox..not purebreed but she is still part of our family n we love her dearly..
but sadly their lifespan is not as long as humans .they get old, fall sick n eventually have to leave us.

Here the pics of my dear dollee http://www.mydollee.com/gallery.html

i guess dollee is one of the reason why i like white dogs thats why i plan to get a westie for my next dog.always see them on cesars dog food that i buy for my dog lol..

i just found out from 1 of irene's buyers that her puppy died 2 weeks after collection. he was infected with canine distemper virus. the owner noticed the symptoms only after they reached KL.

after we exchanged stories, i found out that her puppy and scubby shared some health problems. too long story to write here.

if you have friends interested to buy her westies, ask them to think twice.

all puppies are cute, so why buy one with potential health problems? and not cheap - medical bill or the dog.

read from from this thread http://homeapet.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=...&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

i am so sorry to hear about scubby..ive been following this thread for quite some time ..since u brought back scubby n see pictures of it grow bigger .. i even book mark irenes website considering to buy one from her when time is right but now i better think i shud look for a nother breeder d..

anybody know a good honest westie breeder with healthy westies ?
