Congratulations on your purchase. Do share more info of your westie such as name, where you bought it from, how old, how much, etc. I have a book on westie, I'd recommend it. For more info: http://www.amazon.com/West-Highland-White-...39882510&sr=8-1

I shower my dog once a week now, used to be once every 4 days. Can shower wan is ok because Malaysia tropical weather is different and here, it's damper than overseas. That's just a personal thought.

hehe .. thanks ~

Wow... RM950 sounds like a fair price for a Westie without cert. Post up a pict soon. I believe he's a male then?

Well, I have 3 but I'm unsure if the first is a pure westie, possibly a mixed but regardless, still love him. The second is a female and last is a male. The second and last is MKA certified but the first is not.

First one is name Casper, followed by Moonie and then Marquis. Just neutered Casper last Friday, to avoid accidents.

Yes, i do train my dogs - basic stuff only though.
1. Their names
2. Come
3. Sit
4. Down
5. Hand
6. Roll Over
7. Bang bang (play deaD)
8. Up
9. Go home
10. Pee and poo in the toilet or outside of the house

Roughly that's about it and we dont have much time to teach much else.
*
Haha .. yeap ~ how u know he is a male ??
btw cert is not that important to me ~ as long as we love our dog ~
I respect u ~ u r capable to take care of 3 dogie ~
How do u train Roll over and Bang ??
will white terrier always bark ?

i just informed her via her post in another forum. i don't know if she knows, but after my experience with her, she has been dishonest for a few occasions and we never make a fuss with her. but this time, i think it is my responsibility to inform others especially since i promoted her dogs so much previously.

this is a huge commitment now and we love scubby so much. i cannot imagine my pain when i see him in pain next time cry.gif  the doctor already advised us that scubby should not jump or be too active from now on. and he is only 7 months...

Oh ... sorry to hear this .. sad.gif

read that you just got your westie. welcome to the westie clan  thumbup.gif

may i suggest that once you bring your westie home, bring him for a check-up with a good vet. not trying to scare you but it is better to be prepared if your westie have any unforeseen conditions not visible now at his age. my previous vets at petcare, taman melawati was total useless. make sure you find a good vet and not those that "drink blood"  tongue.gif

do update us once you bring him home ok  biggrin.gif
*
HEhe .. Thanks =) rclxms.gif

SOund Scary =="
BUt its good also to do check up ~
my westie juz 3mths cry.gif hopefully will be the healthy1 ~~

this was taken last month - he's 6mths here. i'm not sure if this is his full size, hopefully he doesn't grow anymore tongue.gif currently 3.88kg

[attachmentid=921627]
this was taken yesterday. he doesn't fight the cone and lets me wear it easily. he'll need to wear it for another 10 days until his sutures are removed next week.

i'll bring him for professional groomer when his fur is long enough for westie cut. currently i only trim between his eyes, his paw pads, sanitary areas and tail. so i can do all that in the toilet lo  biggrin.gif

i'm looking around for groomer that can do a good westie cut. too many sad story of lousy grooming result but still need to pay. sommore after that need to wait for the fur to grow back...

Training should start as soon as you brought the dog back to your house.

1. Ignore the dog
2. Put on a muzzle
*
is there any other way ?
because my housemate might complaint cry.gif
Westie seem to be so energetic =="

You mean when you serve him dinner? Take a rotan and hit the floor when he approaches or, push him away if he doesnt wanna behave. Actually, the best time to train sit is serving dinner time. Tell him sit, then give him food. If he doesnt listen, take it back up and dont let him eat.

yeap . i will try it !
im serving " BLACKWOOD " brand foods , izzit ok ??

Blackwood is ok I guess. It used to be made in USA but now it's from Thailand.

My personal experience with Blackwood is that when you keep the kibbles for a while, you start to notice white dots on the kibbles. These white dots will eventually turn into worms in 1 week.

Therefore, I avoid Blackwood. My favorite brands are Back to Basic, Natural Balance, and Evanger.

HUH !?!?! I bought a 4kg pack !!
IS there any way to avoid it turn worms ??
