Thanks for the compliment. Maybe she is naturally born like that. She got not much rough outer coat and colour like shiny pearl white. It can be the dog food I feed her.

How possible can we know whether a Westie is diseased or not? Will the pet shop owner speaks out the truth?
*
We will not know and it depends on how much you trust the pet shop owner. Is it a reputatable shop?

Somehow, I seen this photo before. Did your dog breed with Celestine's Momo (or was it Morris)?

I feed Natural Balance, Evanger, Back to Basic - these are my favorite brand of kibbles. Some westie fur didnt grow thicker one but a lot do. Dont set your expectations too high, most westie locally cannot have fur like those you see on Scotland.

For my case, when she was puppy the rough coat is more but now less. I am feeding her salmon fish cause she is allergic to chicken. It is eagle pack.

oic... me just took my westie home on last Fri.. i named him Scottie cos his origin from Scottland. i am feeding him fish&potatoes (Fitness Trainer), its a hypoallergenic dog food. I heard there is another company bought over Eagle, so they have stopped overseas distributions of kibbles due to changes in ownership. I think you guys might have prob getting Eagle nowadays.

i've brought him home on last Fri, earlier than i've planned cos wanted him to get used to the new home before i go for my vacation in Aug. Scottie is well behaved on the first two nites, he didnt bark even i put him into the cage. Now i am trainning him to poo& pee in the garden rather than in the cage. May be he has get used to pee&poo in the cage previously. He is so adorable and he sleeps like a baby in my arm... will post some pics later on...

I bought him from a pet shop called Happy Pet House in Happy garden. But the petshop owner is quite irresponsible cos the medical card for Scottie is not being filled up properly, even the date of vaccines that being taken. I also found out Scottie has minor flea prob& his ears are not cleaned when i get him from the petshop. Luckily i sent him for basic grooming yest and the groomer told me so. Although quite pissed off of the petshop owner, i feel m lucky to have found Scottie. smile.gif

i just found out from 1 of irene's buyers that her puppy died 2 weeks after collection. he was infected with canine distemper virus. the owner noticed the symptoms only after they reached KL.

after we exchanged stories, i found out that her puppy and scubby shared some health problems. too long story to write here.

if you have friends interested to buy her westies, ask them to think twice.

all puppies are cute, so why buy one with potential health problems? and not cheap - medical bill or the dog.

Hi All Westies Lover

What Jac said is true.

I am the buyer that bought from Irene, her first batch of westies. We bought Taco from Irene and he had seizure on the second night we got him. We got him on a Sunday and on the second sunday he died after we sent him to a vet because he had seizure. And seizure is the symptom that happened at the last stage of canine distemper. Of course i went back to Irene to tell her what happened and ask her if we can get a partial refund because we paid alot for Taco. We argued on the phone, Irene then only told us that the 'gurantee' was only 5 days, which she never told us before and in the end Irene hung up on us (my sister and i). obviously the issue was never resolved. that was more than a year ago.

Altho it was 2 short weeks we had Taco, i was so smitten by him. After a year i didnt manage to get over Taco and through out last year till now i still visit Irene's website to look at her westies because i never manage to find a westie like Taco.

After 1 year, my boyfriend and i decided to give Irene's westie another chance, (this is the part where everyone will come in to tell me that i am insane) so I went back to Irene. My bf and i drove up to Penang to visit Irene and have a very good look at the puppies. In the end we left with Puffy, it was only after much consideration, debate and sane and objective mind.

Now Puffy has been with us for almost a month already. He is not showing any signs of distemper (i was most worried about), i have been doing all i can to prevent it. However, Puffy do have seborrhea, and for westie's, i've read, it is a genetic disease. I am doing all i can to reduce any potential harm to Puffy from seborrhea. I can say that, I am not regretting much for buying Puffy from Irene but I do hope that Puffy have a good and healthy life. So now all I can is to try to get him as close to that as possible.

Hi Jaclyn,

No, both parents have no history of skin problem.

See you soon,
Irene

Irene Kang is just full of lies!

I hope Scubby will not suffer the same fate. Having suspected Canine Hip Dysplasia is already bad enough cry.gif

Yes he have sad.gif

but i guess her dogs, Ozzy and Christy doesnt appear to have it maybe because it is reccessive gene in them.

i am so worried now like i am not sure when Puffy will get another round of infection once he stop his antibiotics.

any other westies owner out there know anything about seborrhea?

My 5-month old Westie have floppy ears right now. When I first got it 3 weeks ago, his ears were erected for the whole time. After a couple a days though, it becomes floppy. Would taping still work at this age?

Hello! Which groomer you send your little darling to? Heidi goes to Pet Safari (Adrian) and sometimes YeeLee (freelance). I know Seapark Pet Supplies used to have group of groomer that does a very good job for westies... but they left.. anybody have their contact details?

I see. Thing is, his ears were always perked up when he just came for a couple of days. Shortly after that it flopped. We've just trimmed the hair at his ears, and the ears seem to perk up much more now biggrin.gif
