Hi Guys,

Anyone over here are westies owner? I myself have two westies, a male and a female and it is really great having them around. My male is already 7yrs old and my female is juz a pup when i took tis pic. Now her ears already stand and its exactly the same as my male Casper.

Hi, following is a link that I can share and brief info about westies.

http://www.petplanet.co.uk/dog_breed_profile.asp?dbid=44

They are not huge dogs and suitable for condos because a fren of mine is having a westie in her condo as well. All you need to know is, they are pretty energetic dogs and need some good exercise. They are always on alert mode, so better bare with them when they barks. If you know how to control them well, they are seriously awesome dogs to have and great followers to their owners! Outdoors, they can be seriously proud of themselves!

Just a note; do take into consideration pertaining their health as well when you plan to get a Westie.

Good explanation Larry~!

Most of my friends who have westie also living in the condo, but they loves to run in the gardens, they are born to hunt! They have alot of energy! Never know what is tired.. lolx!

They can be very obedient and smart, but not to say they willing to do any tricks you taught them. They are very stubborn too. They know the tricks if you have taught them, but they will not do it whenever you like, it's whenever they like..

Other than health, westies are more common to skin problems..

To me, they are the greatest breed! They are active, cheerful and smart!

Hi all,

I'm unsure if I'm posting at the right place as I have a 4.5month old mixed westie-poodle. Hope you can help me =) What is a good supplement to ensure my girl skin is more healthy and her coat is more nice. Is there any recommendation? She has some red spot over her belly. Sometimes one or 2 red spot will develope to a pimple like pus. It comes and it goes. Doc says it is not caused by allergy.. and gave her some ointment for this problem. But i would like some recommendation if anyone have advice. I kinda prefer the prevention is better than cure line. So hopefully with the help of some supplements, it can help boost her skin condition. Thanks for reading.

Jc

My friend has one and according to him, not normal at all. The fur changes over time but not drop a lot in 2 months.

Hi JC,

A friend of mine recommended me the fish oil, Ark's Natural Royal Coat Express. This oil is good for my westie girl and also use on a friend of mine who owns a westie who have skin problem as well, it do helps alot. Maybe you can look for it.

You can buy it in a vet at Aman Suria, Hands N Paws.. A bottle cost RM83.00 if not mistaken.

Added on November 9, 2012, 5:42 pmVio,

Usually westie fur would not drop, they do not have fur changing season.. If the fur drops, i think its your dog food doesn't suit her and causes the fur drop. You might have to consider switching dog food, fish/salmon kibbles are recommended for skin problem, so maybe you could get that.

I do not use the Gold Medal Clean Eyes for my westies. I feed them Blue Bay Eye Vita. It's very good for them, till now their eyes are clear and with less tear stain. Bright eyes they have now. Ard RM43-45.00 per bottle, use 1-2 bottles, then its all clear and no need to use anymore.

Also, I uses Health N Shine for the saliva stain as well, health n shine do help them look clean n white. 1 bottle is around RM100.00, you will see the diff after consuming 1st bottle. No need to use all the time, as you think they are clean and white.

Hi Winnie,

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm actually from Penang. So gonna search and see if I can find the product you mention. I've also heard of Health N Shine. Seems like a lot of people are using this. =)

Hi JcLoh,

For Health N Shine and the eye vita, I know some online store selling it, you may get from the sites if you want.
but for the oil i mention, so far I only see 1 pet shop selling it, I don't know where else can you get it.

Hi Vio,

I couldn't judge from the picture to see whether your westie is having skin problem or not. But what can I say is westies are very common to skin problem, so they might easily get skin problem.. but also depends on environment, food n etc..

for the health N Shine and eye vita.. I can Pm u the online site, so you can buy it online..
Health N Shine is standard price RM100.00 in all pet shops.. but Eye Vita, I suggest you to get from the site I give to you because it's cheaper..
