Catalyst 8.5 drivers are now available for Windows Vista, Windows XP and Linux (32bit and 64bit versions). Aside from the performance improvements in several games, a number of display mode enhancements have been made and Adaptive Anti-Aliasing support for OpenGL applications has been added.

This release of Catalyst™ introduces WHQL certified support for Microsoft's Windows XP Service Pack 3 update for all ATI Radeon™ Series products.

Performance Improvements
The following performance gains are noticed with this release of Catalyst™.

Call of Juarez DX10: Performance increases up to 12% on systems containing an ATI Radeon™ HD 3xx0 series of product.

Halo: Performance increases by 10-30% across all of the supported ATI Radeon™ series of products.
Lost Planet DX10: Performance increases from 5 to 35% on systems containing an ATI Radeon™ HD 3xx0 series of product.

Stalker DX9: Performance increases by 20-50% when HDR is enabled in the game; across all ATI Radeon™ HD38x0 series of products.

World in Conflict DX10: Performance increases up to 25% on systems containing an ATI Radeon™ HD36x0 and/or an ATI Radeon™ 38x0 series of product. Higher performance gains are noticed on systems contianing an ATI Radeon™ 3870x2 series of product.

i got an error saying that the driver is not compatible with catalyst , tried reinstall... same thing happen

both .NET 2.0 and 3.0 are part of the VISTA.

want to try this but scared not stable. using 8.4 right now. should i try this?

if not js install back 2 8.4 only

and from their notes, a lot of improvement dat we can experience after using 8.5 but we never know until we try it ourselves!!!

only boost for HD3000 series. not 2900 series.

driver itself wont increase much of perfomance...

maybe in some game does but not much~

using some GC with me ka...really rare GC 2900GT.

i use same settings wif 8.4, this 8.5, my 3dmark06 score jump 200 points.

2900Gt is not really rare though.. Hmm,usually updates of driver usually fixes bug in gaming..only slightly enhance performance in gaming for almost all card (i think )Gonna install it in a while
