A long-time friend (the guy) and my sister-in-law got married recently.......

So there I was, being the shutter to capture all the moments. smile.gif However, I'm only sharing some of it here. *too many la, wedding day slides also 100+ pic to show, that also I doubt they'll be of interest. got girls la but no la, no show. private event anyway smile.gif *

Nice composition but you didn't number your pics, hard to give comment tongue.gif

The shots in the car, should have asked the guy to unbutton the coat smile.gif

#1 and #7 is good. For the 7 one, if csm get more of the reflection would be better. Any shots of (only) the wedding dress or shoes?

Totally agree with you on this.

I also think that the wide angle shots for some scenes include too many things (a.k.a distractions) especially like those when she is in the room doing her makeup.

oh, that time i tell you la. so rush on everything, car was moving blabalbalbal. it wasn't a planned bridal house shot. long story la. to snap them also i have to do acrobatics already. biggrin.gif i saw the coat only after shooting which was too late but nevertheless i still like the shot.

no chance. i'm not at a luxury of getting them to pose and finding this and that because things that day were hectic. sad.gif car park onwards things were less hectic.

i snapped in RAW, most shots not much WB change. resize, sharpen, watermark and that's it.

about the coat? ahh explained.

it depends on how you look at it. smile.gif yes, i know, even i would agree that those are distractions like say hair-curler on the floor for example.

BUT look at it this way, I was the ONLY person with the couple when they were doing preperation. the purpose of capturing more background (on that shot for example) was to show how it was like at the place. even the layout of things, and how the bride was sitting in wait.

the moments were captured as it is, even with the surroundings and all .......... while us as photographer may actually regard as distraction or bad photography (to some), those who are not photographers (such as family and friends) actually appreciate it so much to see the details. the parents of both bride and groom, even their siblings and anyone who wasn't there were able to appreciate it as they picture "BRING THEM THERE".

biggrin.gif

while i sometimes do move things away due to distraction, some things i actually left behind for a purpose.

all in all, my most happy moments come the next day when i unveiled the shots at their wedding dinner (a surprise for the couple, not part of their plan) - the couple, their parents, siblings were all damn happy with the shots. after the wedding we actually viewed the slideshow again again again again and on and on and on (like Duracell bunny). rclxms.gif

You don't have to move things away to remove distractions, they do tell the story and explain the environment if captured the right way. No harm at all capturing it this way if you and your friends are happy with your shots. biggrin.gif

Anyway here is just my personal opinion and by this I do not mean it in a bad way. Just sharing some of my thoughts from my personal experience.

you're lucky to get a place where there's so much lighting. at a recent friend's wedding, she held it in camerons at her own home where lighting is at a bare minimum. headache to shoot esp with only a pop-up flash. With goldie's permission, i can reproduce some shots here too. tongue.gif
so what say you goldfries?

@vincent - thanks!

@mavik - totally understand and i really appreciate the feedback. i have no luxury / space to move the chairs. sad.gif removing the air-con would mean i have no stand closer, not the composition i wanted. smile.gif

just really wanted to isolate the bride waiting to leave the place.
