It's really an exercise in patience to practice slowly.
Instead of going straight to 140bpm, start at 60bpm.
Then 65bpm, then 70, and so on, and so on.......

That's why you need to buy a metronome and start off slow.
Like the old saying goes, learn to crawl before you learn to run. With time, you'll build up what I call "inner-metronome" and you can easily get fixed to the timings. Start slow man.... start slow........ |
