even if you have 8600gt with 1GB of memory also will lag la if u go any higher than 1280x800 resolution with everything maxed out...sheesh memory is not important its the GPU power that matter....i can have a 8800gt with 256mb of memory and still able to play max settings...cod4 doesnt consume much gpu memory unless u ran it at full HD

those specs are the norm for most computer already...9800 is not that expensive anymore just that most cc are cheapskate and not willing to upgrade
