Just tried on System Update...you can't reinstall the firmware, you have to wait for the next 2.40 firmware update..

It was a 80GB HK with a dead lens . After replacing the lens, only the BD movies can't be detected but a Digital Video Essential BD (it's a calibration BD) was detected and can be played. All BD games, DVD game NTSC/J (GOW 2) and even a AVCHD DVD+R disc are fine. It was the first case I encountered (I've repaired a few PS3 with dead lenses). The owner later sold it (quite cheap) and bought a new white 40GB SG PS3 as he don't play games on PS3 but only watch BD movies.

Firmware 2.36 now supports DivX with AC3 audio.

huhuhu....tonite will try Jumper.2008.720p.BluRay.DTS.x264-ESiR.mkv to see whether PS3 really can playback DTS audio with x64 video....
