erm.

how did you downloaded the update? using PS3 itself or using thumbdrive.

and did the update finished properly?
*
I used the ps3, and then i just let it update normally.. so after installed.... it said that it will update the database right? then after that it restarted again... then this happened.... and on the top right corner there's a circly swirling thing... im assuming that's the loading thing.. and it's like that until now... hmm..

^ best for you to be patient and read the playstation boards and see if others face similar brick and solutions.

last time for the 2.40 brick, the "file allocation table" of the PS3 HDD was corrupted and the HDD can no longer boot up normally.

ppl have to take the HDD and reformat it (and lose all their data) using PC and start afresh.

You mean lowyat's playstation board or the official one?

i dunno abt laptop but the PS3 HDD is a SATA drive. a motherboard (desktop PC) that supports SATA can recognize/format it.

is there some sort of hdd reader that i can buy?
