If you have ever tried to send a Sony product not designated to its area, you will know. Its not about the money. Its about store policy. If you dont believe me, try and send a PS2 to Sony Style for repairs, see if they will entertain you. They definately can do it yes, but the policy. We have seen cases like this in the past involving grey imported machines and official service centers. Not trying to be a d*** here, but thats the sad reality

sadly bro, not everybody is familiar with the reasons of the Limited Warranty and regional sales restriction in the first place..sigh..

anybody remembered when PS2 was first launched, Japanese govt had to curb the machines from being imported OUTSIDE of Japan..

Tidus, I would recommend u to send to the original shop you bought the thing. Its because personaly in my opinion, warranty from SG mmg senang, free, but the time and cost coming there is not worth it. PS3 lense can be changed by shops now, so why the hassle, just send it to them kene baya skit lah, but u will get it back in a jiffy!

I think, people who managed to get the malaysian CC working in US PSN is because when they register it, they were using proxy. Somehow I think US PSN checks our IP too. My wild guess.
