^just some region difference. SGP is classify under R3 Asian Set. it can play R3 DVD.

i don't think how any set can be "better" than the rest cos they most probably manufactured under the same factory line.

Hi friends. Just want to ask.

http://asia.playstation.com/eng_my/index.p...station_network

Does this mean that Malaysian PSN is up? Can you guys now select 'Malaysia' when registering for a new PSN account? Thanks.

^ best for you to be patient and read the playstation boards and see if others face similar brick and solutions.

last time for the 2.40 brick, the "file allocation table" of the PS3 HDD was corrupted and the HDD can no longer boot up normally.

ppl have to take the HDD and reformat it (and lose all their data) using PC and start afresh.

i dunno abt laptop but the PS3 HDD is a SATA drive. a motherboard (desktop PC) that supports SATA can recognize/format it.
