QUOTE(jsc_tidus @ Jul 3 2008, 11:49 PM) Well, NTFS is M$. Maybe that's why Sony didn't use it. Same goes for the PSP. Only FAT or FAT32.QUOTE(sonic_cd @ Jul 4 2008, 01:13 AM) This is after 2.40 update rite? May I know what PS3 model u're using? |

QUOTE(Ka3tr0 @ Jul 8 2008, 12:31 AM) Hey guys, i just came back from 1 month offshore..saw the new update msg comes up, say yes, but it shows 2.36 ?? not 2.4 ??...i go ahead and download 2.36..it shows no progress at all..and after a minute shows an error connecting to the server. Sony shutdown all server ? even for 2.36 ? Yup... I agree with TheUndead. Download it manually using your PC, put it into a FAT/FAT32-formatted drive (hdd, flash, etc) and choose update from media storage. Make sure to MD5 check it before updating (tot31 posted an MD5 app a couple of pages behind). You wouldn't want to brick/semi-brick your PS3. I think everyone (even successful updaters) wouldn't want to be the guinea pig

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jul 8 2008, 08:49 PM) Theres a new tab under the profiles page as well for showing the last played game. The Platinum trophy icon has been changed too, now it really looks more platinum-ish. I agree with you the in game XMB is slightly smoother. but where is the last played game tab? or is it shown on the first tab? the first row...?In-game XMB is slightly smoother now as well. |

The scenery. Try looking at the flags (banners), there are some 'lines' coming out.

Last nite I played GT5P and CoD4 only. For the time being, its only in GT5P... maybe PD stressed the RSX too much?

Guys, I just wanna ask if any of you having hang ups with the latest firmware (2.42)? I notice after updating to 2.42 from 2.41, there are occasional hangs. Some I waited for it to continue (Rock Band) and some I had to do cold reboot (mostly in GRiD).
p/s: I own a 40GB PS3 Asia unit This post has been edited by Cyphereza: Aug 4 2008, 02:32 PM |

I don't recommend reverting back to 2.41 (if its possible). You can't play online anyway~
This hanging/jerking problem might be serious. Someone had his hard disk spoiled. Not too sure if the hanging is causing this. |

No no... not HDD spoil because of reverting back. HDD spoiled because of the hangings... but still not too sure...
