To use EDGE, key in the APN, Usename and password in Setting --> General --> Network --> EDGE.

EDGE setting for Maxis would be:

APN: net (for non 3g sim) or unet (for 3g sim)
Username: maxis
password: wap

The setting u have above is for MMS setting in SwirlyMMS app.
