WEEKENDS: 12pm - 1/2am hardly connect to internet, PING: REQUEST TIME OUT, UNABLE TO SURF ANY WEBS EVEN CONNECTED, then when come to evening like 6 or 7pm likedat the line is smooth...

WEEKDAYS: 12pm onwards and night line are so laggy...

Your line is bad. I think if you are into surfing and other things , then you should opt for Maxis Wireless broadband or celcom. If you are into surfing and other things. Check your line , signal for streamyx.I am sensing your phone line is very bad. If you face disconnections it means that your phone line is having some issues

I got couple of friends living near there , they are just saying that streamyx is slow when it comes to international fact. You'll have to post your modem status page. Take a screenshot and post it here or say it out your SnR. Its important

You are like complaining without facts. Give facts , suppose if your line is good then by all means you can go ahead and complain to MCMC. Otherwise people would consider you as "Talking cock". To send to MCMC and NCCC you need very good proofs. Otherwise its a no go !

What you are posting is basically ping results. You'll have to post your Modem details (upstream margin , downstream margin , upstream line attenuation , without its hard do judge if your streamyx is having issues or your PC)

I have to connect to my neighbours wireless to post this.. Damn connection is always slow during the mornings. I'm in subang jaya(usj area) btw.

Now the connection is back to normal grrr, is tmnet purposely setting a time frame for my internet usage!!!?? Anyone know other alternatives to streamyx?

That is really bad , very , very , very bad. You need to have TM to check the line. Try connecting directly without splitter

First and foremost , what modem are you using. mind providing details of your modem ? (i.e Aztech DSL 600e). Then from there i'll point you to the right direction

Your DS Margin and your DS Line Attenuation. There seems to be a lot of noise in your line. It sums up why your line keeps on disconnecting tongue.gif

Look at your DS and US Line Attenuation. Its somewhat bad for your downstream. and loo kat your DS Margin , its very bad. Too low. No wonder your download speed sucks and you are facing lots of disconnection. Now read up http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/222851 . Call up 103 and mail them. You may want to mail to MCMC as well. This is the reason why your streamyx is poor

Its certainly something to do with your phone. Here are my tips

1) Take couple of readings in the morning (say around 4am to 7 am)

2) Take couple of readings in the afternoon (lunch hour or so)

3) Take couple of readings again in evening (or night)

4) Then take one in the wee hours of morning

Compare and em and post it here. We might just find the culprit. The thing changes from time to time. So you better take note. Once we have enough data you may send a complain letter to TM and MCMC so that will fix the issue. BTW its related to your phone line and not streamyx tongue.gif

If possible do one test with spliter on and the other one without (i.e connect the modem directly to the telephone line without using a spliter). Do some basic troubleshooting first.

Wow. Its mysterious. I am not sure why such case explains. This goes for Xtryfe as well. Well during off-peak times , certainly it would be faster !

Usually connection will be fast during the night time and in the wee hours of the morning as less users will be using it for streamyx. Maybe the night lurkers thats about it. Your line attenuation is still bad and it needs to be resolved ASAP. Try calling Telekom up and let them check your line. If they say they need some repairs ask them how much and things like that. Your other option is would be to opt for a wireless broadband. Your line clearly has lots of noises !

Your line attenuation is fine. Its not bad , your SNR Margin is pretty good. You shouldn't be facing any problem at all. But it seems that you are on the same boat as me. The International link is as usual congested. You may want to do a local speedtest to see if you can get around 700-800/900Kbps. Do let us know tongue.gif

I got the worst iP range ever that I could get which is the 124.12 ip range. to be honest , it sucks both in terms of latency and speed for both international and local link. The routing is bad. It took me couple of retries before getting back my lucky 118.100 ip address. *sigh* shouldn't have hit the disconnect button otherwise I would be having the same ip for 3 days !

Xtryfe , its location depended. In my current place , I can't get 60.51 , 60.50 , 218.111 , and all other ip ranges. I can only get 118.100 and 124.12 , thats about it

Superb speed for local links. enjoying the speed. But for International sites , its a bit sluggish. No complains and not going to complain , till I get fed up. Ey , at least i can host a game !

Take screenshot and send it to them. its still bad. look at your downstream. There seems to be lots of noise in your line. It makes sense why. You better call TM and say that your line is noisy. Let them come to your house and check first tongue.gif

LOS (Loss Of Signal) count . It means that there is 3 signal that has been lost. This will cause hiccups , disconnection and extreme latency. You shouldn't be getting this. If you're getting this it means that your line is poor. everytime the speed increases , the signal drops too (that is why you need to be nearer to the Exchange to enjoy the best speeds tongue.gif). You better fork out some money and fix your phone line related issue since you're having issues with phones instead of ranting 'AMG $$#$#$#@! Streamyx sucks'. Your modem status shows it all. You're having some signal loss and the Modem is unable to maintain/cope at that speed with all those noises and other funny things.
