Denon got, but Eonon neva heard b4.

I hv done some search on Eonon for a while. It's HK brand but products made in China. Should be much better than pure china brand.
Their tv monitor is using made in japan panel (toshiba etc).
They only do online sale, especially to europe and america.

i just bought and tried the EO646A player at RM399.

the review:
I just bought this unit from rsonline and installed yesterday at brothers.

Pros
1. The design and display is not bad, the whole unit is heavy and solid.
2. Sound quality above my expectation, my ori speakers set is not enough.
3. Can read most of the media: CD, DVD, DVD+/-RW, SD, USB incl. format WMA, mp3, mp4, DivX
4. Auto memory on last played track
5. Very convenient remote control
6. No CD track skip even on bumpy road.
7. CD go into the slot easily, almost need no force to push.

Cons
1. Some button is hard to press (<<,>>,Mode) but problem solved using remote.
2. No track info display if without monitor, so hard to jump to track >20
3. USB only can be used with SD in the slot. (need to verify with Eonon)
4. FM radio signal not stable. I'm not sure it's my anthena problem coz the old radio also have similar problem.
5. Only 3months warranty instead of 1yr.

Overall with the price against the features, i am quite satisfied. Will feedback the problems to the seller and Eonon. Hopefully they can help.

There is another model with the same price as this one, wonder is it good? The design outlook seem better than this one and it is same price. Waiting for your further review for it, if really good, I don't mind to change my stock player.

Btw, can you help me to check whether this player comes with RDS and AF feature? Thanks.

only different is the front panel design. 689 look more simple and clean.
I think the buttons should be better than 646A.
there is an external AuxIn port for 689 while for 646A is at the back.
But I prefer 646A bcoz can plug USB straight to the HU, unlike the 689 need extra cable.
btw, EO689 is obsolete from Eonon website. but i saw Rsonline still got very few unit only.

sorry can do review on EO689 as i already bought the 646A.

I'll use memory card instead of usb drive, easier and smaller space occupie. And 689 seem nicer outlook compare to 646, anyway 646 is copy design from one of the pioneer model.

How about the RDS and AF feature? Is 646 got this 2 features?

P/S May I know what is your previous player before you change to this?

previously my player is the stock Clarion cassette player come with the wira.

837 is cool to have for its touch screen interface and bluetooth handsfree function but the price is over my budget a lot and i dun watch video in my car.
but maybe later i will add the monitor for the rear view reverse camera.

It seem like it is quite a good deal. The only thing that holding me back now is not sure whether it got the AF feature that will auto change to clear channel like from 92.9 to 95.0 like that.

so far so good. have been trying the CD on various driving condition. works perfectly.
but most of the time i will play the SD card.
Now the only problem is my antenna is a bit problem. The reception is not stable since the last player.

I still checking whether it got the AF function. I need it especially when i travel south.
right now i saved different freq for the channel i want in diff band.

Thanks for the information and checking. Do update and let me know once you have found out, will get one if confirm got AF, LOL.

I also read some of the review & feedback in the Eonon forum... some siad we need a booster for the Radio too.???

Most probably online then get it fixed with friend's help. Or maybe ask acc shop can get this product or not, if can then get from them.

i couldn't find the AF function. I think there is no AF.
only got the RDS with AMS function.

What is AMS used for?

Automatic Memory Setting
means it automatically search and save the FM channels in the available memory setting.

LOL, that's a useless feature, never really bother to use that though it has it on most of the player. But anyway, due to the sound quality almost same as stock player, better function, dvd, usb and memory card, I think maybe I can bear with the AF feature....

the OEM HU hv no brand, only name is the car manuf name on it. ie Honda. I got it from lelong.my price is RM1250.

He saying his car's old player, not the new EONON player. Like proton car, got the brand clarion but you will never get any information for that model because it is like clarion OEM for proton cars.

guys, did anyone tried eonon 2din dvd type player yet? Or maybe 1 din dvd player? Is it good? I'm planning of buying it if worth the while.

if u look at the 2nd photo and the manual's photo, u will have no doubt it is a EONON 837!
i dunno what's the cable in first photo. but the other cables and connectors look new!

We are not talking about the new player which is EONON, we are talking about his car's OEM player, the stock player = OEM player, get it?

W/ a friend help to install the HU. Here r the ok and problems:

ok:
1. SD card. hv not try the USB drive yet.
2 Bluetooth - H/P hand free & MP3 streaming from H/P is damn good!! (try w/ Samsung i600 & Nokia N73).
3. LCD Display is clear, if the movie can run.
4. Sound out put is good & clear too.

Problem:
1. Radio is not clear... may be need a booster.
2. CD/DVD player is damn fussy on the disc... suka suka it cannot run/read the disc!!! So cannot see moves aiyo... but once it play the video is good. Hv call the Seller he said he will fix it for me.
3. TV cannot see any thing yet.. as I hv not tune it right. but may pass it... watch astro better lah.

So ppl hold on 1st... let see how they gonna fix the 1st 2 problems.

Since I'm not intended to get monitor, I think I can bear with the choosing CD problem as everything will goes to SD card (large capacity, cheap and no skip disc problem will ever happen).

But radio is very important, sometimes keep on listen music also boring, need to listen to radio and it is important to have clear radio.

Hmm...in that case I'll wait for you guys test on the radio first. Is that any problem with the previous stock player? If stock player does gives the same problem then it is not the EONON player problem.

does this china brand unit have fan behind? I just bought a china dvd / mp3 / vcd unit, and when i power it up can hear fan noise.

Kinda loud as well if you turn the volume low, somewhat irritating!

my original player have some problems too but it is more serious in the new player. but when i pass some area it is ok. maybe those in stronger signal!

In that case, hoping to see you guys can resolve the radio issue. Saw a combo package in lelong, player and monitor RM9xx only.

Not a latest model of monitor. I'm in office now, can't access to lelong. You can just get into lelong and search for EONON.

With stock speaker, I don't think pioneer will perform better sound than EONON. Further more, spending nearly 1k just for a player is kinda waste to me, I rather spend on home theater system. And...one thing holding me back of branded player is...their design all looks very ugly to me, cannot match the car interior at all...

well.. different ppl have different taste. the thing holding be back not becoz it is fugly... but the motor for the LCD is usually fragile and warranty 3mths is a no no for me. and basically i use AUX in, so i dun really watch DVD in car. so no point changing it after reviewing..

I'm not saying about the LCD, I don't watch DVD at car either because I'm driving alone all the time, what for to have DVD inside car .

What I'm saying is the player, spending 1k for a car player is really wasting money. Good player need to match good speaker, total up spend more than 10k, 20k just for car entertainment? I rather make a home theater with 42" LCD with surround sound at home enjoy DVD and music. After all, I'm not living inside the car, I live at home

Why use AUX? It's kinda funny to me, because you already got a player then still need to plug in another player (mp3, ipod) to play the music. I rather choose a player with SD card. With 4gb card, I can store a lot of MP3s inside.

Well, I think different people got different taste. For me, stock speaker with normal player that suit the function will do, I'm not aiming for playing music in a car, just listen only, so no point getting an expensive player which perform no different with a cheap player.

well, unless they support SDHC 32GB, no point for me using SD card. If you notice my setup at my signature below, you get the rough idea why i use Aux in.

I am not saying spending 1k for player is good or wasting. Some people willing to come out thousands of ringgit for ICE pleasure and some just accept what the stock player can do. so, as the normal user point of view, yes it is wasting money for upgrading things which you dont use that much or hardly appreciate it (like only listen to radio). So, as audiophile point of view, they want quality from their setup hence they will try to search for setup that suits them. but as for me, i am in the middle where i want quality at the lowest cost possible and yet try to expand the possibilities of playback.

I use ipod 30gb and it is played thru Harman Kardon ipod intergrator via Aux in and my Pioneer already has USB input. so from that point, i can already play most of the formats, be it from my ipod (Apple lossless,wav, etc), Pioneer (mp3, wma, CD, radio, USB) or Aux (via Harman Kardon's input jack).

So for me, if i ever want to upgrade, it will be DVD player with LCD and must have AUX in. or to minimize the hassle, that player must support USB & Ipod. Eonon has some player models which support iPod connection( and better.. with Bluetooth); which is why i kept tempted to buy, but its the quality that i am worry at holds me back from buying it. comparing this brand with other brands like Pioneer which cost least RM2k for DVD+LCD player or Alpine that cost even more, this is the cheapest alternative.

And changing players doesnt mean it has no difference compare to OEM. it must have difference, but it takes an audiophile to able to differentiate them.

Well...4gb will do for me, I don't need such large capacity since I won't be able to finish all the songs one straight and songs will get bored from time to time and will get update with new one.

To me it is wasting that's why I don't want spend too much on it. In fact my other interest get comments as wasting money too so I understand the feeling, obviously it depends on what you want and what you need.

LCD, it might looks good but since I'm not the one who enjoy it, I rather spend my money on other things.

So far, from what I observe is, with stock player change to a branded cheap player, it is hard to tell the difference, very hard for normal user like me. So I think it is acceptable. LOL

I do travel a lot, everyday 100km, at least 500km per week....The stock player serve me well but I don't want to keep too many CD inside the car, that's why I want to change the player but I'm not really into ICE mod, so cheapest solution will be enough for me.

yes, 4gb usually adequate for most user stuff around 500-800 songs. i too very lazy to change cd all the time and store them in the car... thats where my ipod comes in handy...

i understand its hard to tell the difference unless the speakers and amps are added as well. thats y i stated it need audiophiles to differentiate them.

My song list always get updated and old song will become like classic, sometimes review back only. So 4gb to change and update the song all the time will fine for me.

Not only speakers, amp everything, the songs itself need to be a good quality one, 320kbps and 128kbps is a lot of difference too.

basically i very satisfied with the eonon sound quality and features. but there is still some other uncertainty around.
my 2nd car is a italian so i better stick to more reliable brand installed by reputable shop.
again, i dun need super sound quality. just need to listen to some music & radio. USB is a must have feature!
so i think pioneer 3050UB is the best choice for me!

i also very tempted to get a monitor so i can install reverse camera and GPS! budget is a big issue!!! too many things to spend in my life!!

DEH3050UB is good enough for me, but as i said previously, i use Aux in only instead of usb. i bought it with pioneer malaysia warranty so it is slightly expensive than the price now...
but overall, i am very very satisfied with the quality

guys,after i compare the spec of this 2 HU,i found out dat 646A has the RCA audio fr/fl and so on,meanwhile 689 has 2 aux video output,646A also can play dvd-rw,dvd-r,where 689 cant perform tis action,if is me i will take 646A for more value on money,so now i am still waiting any update for those dat have bought tis HU,thx

689 also can play dvd-rw and dvd-r, it is a dvd player anyway. what's the RCA audio used for?

means can choose to play front or back,but it wont make any diff after i tink a while,coz not like pioneer,can front+rear+subwoofer,or sum1 can explain?but 689 oni can play left and right,so for those has family,will dont like it,can play dvd-rw also ah?then i take 689 coz design nicer,

Sorry guys been busy w/ work these days.

I hv solved the radia problem... as my car do come w/ a radio booster. So once I power up the booster wow the radio is damn claer now.

As for the CD/DVD player is a total "kong" case. So today the Seller change the whole HU for me w/ a new unit.

Now all the Radio/CD/VCD/DVD, SD card & USB port all can use w/o any problem & I also ask the seller test all the units he hv before sell it, this will safe up his time & $$$. Next is to try to add in the TV function when I am free lah.

the booster is come w/ the car. As my old unit is using it. As for the installing it is done by a help of a friend. So the I hv not paid the workmanship yet.

this 'coz my car antenna is build in side the rear window glass. If like the kelisa u hv a pull out antenna that will be ok. or u can get a booster from the ICE shop price is ~ rm20 to 50 is OK.
