Indy & Kingdom of the crystal skull had some of the long and tricky action sequences of their predecessors but they weren't as funny and half as fun.

Spielberg's eternal fascination with aliens since Close Encounter of the Third Kind to E.T. to War of The Worlds has creeped into Indy
Indy's obsession was all about objects of popular mythical culture. Somehow I refuse to believe they have run out of ideas for it. I think they're just lazy

And please, let Indiana Jones ride into the sunset (or waltz on the aisle of his wedding) with dignity and let it be. The franchise should be over with while it is still good. Don't overcook the goose
