A friend of mine, plans to visit Singapore on the first week of March. He asked me to find out some details about his stay but i think it's better for me to consult the members here. 1) Which would be a good hotel to stay? He will be there for 2 nights 3 days, and wants either a 4 or 5 star hotel. 3 Star hotel can be considered. 2 People in 1 room, he and his wife. 2) How would he pay / make reservation for the hotel if he doesn't have a credit card? Could he go to the hotel on the day of arrival to Singapore and pay them in cash? Or is there anyway around this? That would be all. Thank you

QUOTE(vey99 @ Jan 14 2010, 05:43 PM) just curious, if u want stay 4/5 star hotel, why not use credit card? cash is tricky cos usually hotel will ask for some deposit, maybe 1 or 2 nite also. He went through some fraud case previously where he had to cancel all his credit cards. That is why he prefers to pay by cash for the time being. What are his options if he wants to pay solely by cash?

QUOTE(vey99 @ Jan 14 2010, 05:56 PM) can try concorde hotel on orchard or sheraton on scotts (very near orchard) Both these hotels accept Cash payment? And the amount made payable by credit card holders shouldn't be different than by cash right? Update: He informed me that he was thinking of getting a debit card to pay for the hotel to avoid these inconvenience. What debit card that is available in malaysia that you would recomend him? I am visiting a friend in Singapore soon, and was thinking to bring along a bottle of vodka and Baileys too. Could i get them from LCCT Duty free shop? I know about the 1 liter rule for bringing in liquor to Singapore, but i don't know what category would Baileys be placed in. Or could i get them at the Changi Airport? As far as i know, there are 2 duty free stores in the airport that is the Wine & Cigar one, and the other one which sells only spirits.
If not, what stores are there in orchard , that sells vodka and baileys?
