Sim Lim Plaza but do your research 1st regarding the prices here in Malaysia and check out the validity of warranty.
Sometimes the small malls in the outskirts of Sinkapo have better promotion to attract the locals rather than the LowYat Plaza type.
*
it's Sim Lim Square not Plaza, Sim Lim Plaza only sell electronic parts, just like Jalan Pudu.

Will be staying there for 3 and a half day in a hotel called Regin Hotel.
Planning to go there on monday since there would be less people.
Trying to get my hands on a designer labelled perfume for men.
How much should I have in hand to own a decent perfume from the tax free stores there?
*
wasted because SITEX starts tomorrow and end on Sunday smile.gif

Caturday=weekend mah...So it;'s free but not the parking..watch-out on the rate.. ERP is cheaper than parking lor...ERP = S$5/day during weekday nia and unlimited entries for foreign cars. Whereas parking...eh..really sked..easier you park your car inside the hotel parking & take opublic transport...
*
Saturday ERP is not totally free, depends on locations. Some areas around Orchard & Chinatown is not free, so stop assuming Saturday's ERP are free

I will be staying at Ibis Novena Sg on my upcoming trip. May I know is there any mall or places to hang out nearby the hotel within walking distance? How bout place for fine dining? Thanks.
*
it's not a bad idea to try some of the hotel buffet. Some might need to book in advance. On the scale of 1-10, on average I will rate it around 8, where else only 4 for Msia.

*
you need to top up your aotupass to ensure there is sufficient amount inside to pay for your VEP & ERP when you leaving Sg.

which park of parking are you confused with ? maybe i could explain it to clear your doubt.

Really??? Then I wanted to ask is it white colour box are the cheapest parking??? B'cos I found out that nearly my relative house, there is a white box car park and it didn't stated anything there. I c nobody had put coupon cos tat is a coupon parking when come to night and no season parking.. Meaning I can park that places??
*
most Sg cars that park in those HDB parking (the so call white & red box parking) have monthly parking decal sticker, so no need put coupon. Certain HDB parking is free on Sunday 2230hrs - Monday 0730hrs but not all. Night parking is SGD$4 IIRC.

I'm planning to visit USS on 16 Dec with two of my friends. Is there any site where I can get cheaper tickets (like Agoda where you get cheaper price) compared to paying the full price from USS website?
Just curious, if everyone else gets the Express Pass, then wouldn't you still have to wait?
*
cheapest tix is thru mastercard 20% promotion.

Yes, if everyone else gets the Express Pass, then you still have to wait. if everyone else gets the Express Pass and you don't , then you will always be the last in line for popular rides. If you got hell lot of time, then don't buy.

Hi, I'd like to ask something about driving down to Singapore.

I've driven to Singapore last time and I did all the registering at the checkpoint and stuff. I didn't need my insurance and car registration card to register at the checkpoint back then.

I am planning to drive a different car to Singapore this time around and I know that I'll need to register again. I've been reading that I'll need to have my car registration card and insurance policy with me.

My question is, do I need all those things?

P.S. I'm driving a company registered car down. Registered under my dad's company's name. The previous car was the same.
*
I think only the register owner of the foreign vehicle are allow to drive in Singapore.
You need to have insurance cert with you at all times, it have been that way since day 1.
You can don't follow but they will nail you if you get into an accident.

That will be fine. There's a Tune Hotel near Danga Bay which is near to the customs. You can stay there.
*
it's not near. The distance is nearly 10-15km ?

Definition of near and far is different for everyone. The guy wants to save costs. Tune Hotels is a good choice as it is only around RM50-60 a night and it is well cleaner than other hotels at a similar price range. From the CIQ to Tune hotel, the distance is not bad at all. Come out from M'sia Customs, just drive straight to J.B Sentral, take the road along the sea (pass by the zoo, clock tower etc) straight to Tune Hotels.

Unless you have better recommendations. Say it out, let him decide.
*
yes in fact i have. Bugis have a lot of Backpackers hostel or Travellers Inn. They have bunker beds costing around $30 per person with common bathroom. You could stay in 2, 3 or 4 per room. I've stayed there once for 3 days during the F1 period. Quite a lot of ang moh travelers staying there too. Some place have free internet access. Area pretty clean and near MRT. It's definitely better than staying in JB and save a lot of time on traveling, morning traffic jam and hassle going thru custom.

Thought of taking shuttle from Tune Hotel to Singapore, but the last shuttle back to Tune Hotel is 10:30pm ... If later than that, I worried I got no transport back to JB...
Agreed. For those budget like me .. I don't really mind abt the far part ..
*
agreed but could you afford to waste time ? If you have a lot of time to burn then and don't mind the hassle of traveling thru custom or occasionally jam at causeway, then it's ok
