any suggestion on any bus tat can go there in the morning and come back in the evening?

Another way is to travel at night and return the next day. There are many buses (actually I prefer to call them coach) that depart from Bukit Jalil (while they still operate form there) between 11:00pm to 12:00 midnight. Sleep through the journey and you should reach Singapore by 4:45am to 5am depending how crowded is the Tuas checkpoint. Most likely you'll drop off at the Golden Miles Complex.

You have two way to get to the town area. Take a walk to Lavender MRT station and the first train departs that station around 5:45am and you'll be able to get to any destination via MRT. Otherwise take a cab directly into town.

Take the 6:30pm or 7:00pm coach back to KL. That way you have the whole day in Singapore to do whatever you want.

but from the station to marina bay ...by walking around 15-20 mins..they have one more station nearer to be opened in the future..u should get off at Promenade station

You can take a bus from just outside Marina Bay and it will take you directly to the Shoppe. I think the bus frequency is not that often so a lot of people prefer to walk.

If you don't want to walk, take MRT from VivoCity and then alight at Bugis Station (assume you know how to change line). Wait for bus 133 at the bus station outside Bugis Junction (facing Iluma I think). The bus will take you directly to the front of Marina Bay Sand Hotel.

Ehh Actually there is a MRT station at Marina Bay what..Just take or switch MRT either at Raffles Place, City Hall or Dolby Ghaut or if you're on red line..No need to switch. You will reach Marina Bay station and walk ~ 700M to Marina bay  hmm.gif ,
I have walked from both Marina Bay and Promenade station to Marina Bay Sands before. Both will take about 15 min casual walk to actually reached the Shoppe.

If you are rushing for time than it is easier to take a bus from the nearest MRT then to sweat under the hot sun. Yes both route doesn't have any cover so you'll be walking under the sun.

Take bus 133 from Bugis station is my best option so far. Take bus 106 to return to Dolby Ghaut or 133 to return to Bugis station.

yup been to bugis, friend told me a lot of shopping there... but..... when i arrived on my last trip it is like those mornign market only... sigh
hmm if take bus from bugis how long will arrive marina bay? aa~~ prefer to take mrt directly~~ if want to go back to bugis station from marina also take 133 bus?
*
The shopping mall above Bugis station is called Bugis Junction. I think the market you mentioned is the one across the road from Bugis Junction similar to our Petaling Street.

Take bus from Bugis station to Marina Bay Sands is less than 10 minutes. Yes you can take 133 to return to Bugis station. You can also take bus 106 to return to Dolby Ghaut or bus 97 to return to Suntec City.

Unfortunately there is no MRT that take you directly to Marina Bay Sands. Both the Promenade and Marina Bay station is about 15 min walk from Marina Bay Sands.

and anyone can recommend me way of going from bugis to marina bay sands??
for MRT...is it take MRT till marina bay?

Since you are already at Bugis, just take bus no 133 outside Bugis Junction. It will take you direct to the front of Marina Bay Sands. Return with the same bus and it will stop at the opposite side of Bugis Junction.

I can understand staying in JB to save on hotel costs but staying in JB to save on parking costs is a bit extreme considering the amount of time you spend going in and out compared to the money you save.
*
If you plan to drive it, look for a hotel that has it own parking lots. Make sure they charge you per day rate rather than per hour rate. Some hotels share their parking with public parking facility of the mall or building and they charge by hour so you have to pay quite a lot just for parking. Top up your Autopass as it can be used for most parking facilities (but not all).

Another option is to use the Tanjung Pagar MRT exit and walk toward Maxwell Foodcourt.

I'm planning to go sg with my friend.. just both of us.. but not sure how much is the total damage..  I'm planning to go by air Asia from penang to changi airport. We would like to stay 3nights 4days in holiday inn atrium hotel.. transportation wise we would use mrt.. would like to visit uss, marina bay sands, Clarke quay, sentosa island vivo city and orchard road.. based on my trip.. rm3k is it enough include air ticket n accommodation together with the stated activities?

Holiday Inn Atrium is no where near any MRT. You'll need to walk about 15 minutes (slow walk) to the nearest MRT. One option is to take the SBS bus from the hotel to the nearest MRT. I stay there once and due to the long walk to MRT so decided to drive out instead. Luckily their parking for hotel guest was free then.

from Raffles Place MRT, walking into Merlion Park

how long will it takes? unsure.gif

Better to walk from City Hall MRT station. Follow the Citylink route, come out in front of Esplanade and then walk to Merlion. It might slighly longer walk but you have covered walkway from Citylink all the way until Esplande. A better alternative if you are going there during the day.

Added on February 24, 2011, 2:56 pmI think this info should be included in Page 1 too. Most Johorean who drive into Singapore will be familiar with this but not those from central or northern region who don't drive there often.

If you have into Singapore and have purchased an autopass, you'll need to update the roadtax information in the card annually.

Last weekend I drove into Singapore again through Tuas, the autopass was not accepted by the reader. The custom officer said that the autopass's roadtax info needs to be updated. She clear us and then we have to go to the autopass counter to update the roadtax info.

There is no fee for this update. The autopass counter staff will check the start date of the roadtax sticker on your car, enter it into their system and then update your autopass.

i read about autopass in previous few pages.

if i take flight to singapore, i should get the autopass in the airport?
Autopass is meant for vehicle. If you are flying in you don't need an autopass!

Hi, I will going to visit singapore by plane for 3D2N on this middle of the month to attend an exibition...I'm doing research on the hotel, I found Hotel Royal look good, SGD 180/night ...for 2 days including taxes; it cost around RM1038+/- (stated there no breastfast included but early book got). What do guys think ? Any better and cheaper than Hotel Royal ? pls advice...
*
Is that rate nett or before tax. If the nett than it is not bad.

I stayed at Hotel Royal regularly but mine is a corporate rate. It is nett and slightly lower than what you got and come with breakfast. However their breakfast is just so so, not something you will miss. However the hotel is quite convenient as it is a mere five minutes walk from Novena MRT station. I choose to stay here because it has a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. I just take a bus from the HQ office to go back to the hotel.

The room at Hotel Royal is quite decent and spacious. It has a very oriental interior decoration so if you don't like steak wood tables and chairs kind of environment, you might find the room a bit old style.

If you want something lower price, consider Hotel V at Lavender. However I don't like it because it has a feel of First World Hotel in Genting. Their room is small and cramp.

At slightly higher rate but more comfortable and modern room, I like York Hotel and Oasia Hotel. However you are looking at the price range of S$240++ range.

I am planning to go SG this coming Christmas week. We're thinking of driving there since there'll be 4 of us but my concern would be how expensive would it be to park in SG? Are there any places with fixed full day parking price or similar?
*
If I drive to Sgp, I usually choose either Hotel York or Hotel Royal. Parking for guests are FOC.

You use your Autopass to gain access into their parking lots. When you exit, you ask the hotel reception to give you a coupon that you scan at the parking exit on your way out.
